They relate to applicants for appointments and scholarships in the Colonial Service and the Central Committee Secretary. There are also multiple copies of application forms.

The Biohazards Committee made recommendations to the University Council relating to the granting of personal licences, received applications for approval of projects involving recombinant DNA research, determined the information to be provided by applications and determined the hazards involved. The committee then recommended approval of proposed projects. The records consist of copies of the working papers of Victor Allen Edgeloe, Registrar.

They include minutes, budget summaries, yearly financial statements, reports from the Finance, Union Hall, House and Health Service Committees, regulations of clubs and societies, extraordinary meetings, student counselling and a report on the Conference of Union Secretaries and Wardens University of Queensland. The records consist of a collection of theses, essays and lectures in manuscript and typescript with topics covering most areas of the University curriculum. Many were submitted for prizes. They were found in the basement of the Mitchell building labelled 'essays and theses' and were presumably held by the Registrar.

The series consists of a volume in two sections, the front being apparently an up-dated version of the back. It gives relevant Council minute s establishing the Committee and subsequent changes to its membership, sometimes with the relevant docket number. The series consist of index cards created by A. Holbourn, a clerk in the Academic Registrar's Office. It was not continued after his retirement.
