It was enjoyable and entertaining. One person found this helpful. It was a good story line; but not enough detail for me - just sort of glossed over and it went so very quickly. Also to me the story ended pretty abruptly Hope that some of the sequels pickup the story line- its as if this book should only be the beginning of these lives.

I'd like to read how the main characters went on to build their families and lives. She had me with her all the way through. I could see everything I was reading, it was if I was there with the people in the book. She had me laughing, and crying. I believe that Gina will be one of our new authors in the coming years.

She writes the sex scenes so that they are not marred by dirty words, and leave you to your own imagination.

Very nicely written book. Appreciate the background building that went into the characters, be good or bad. The struggle of the times without getting bogged down in it as well. It was more than 'just another romance' tho. Well done Ms Coon, well done! I have read all the S. This is the first book in the series. The story is basically about widowed Emma Smith who not by choice but neccessity accompanies her father along with her young son, sister and neighbors to trek out west to get free land offered by the Homestead Act.

Along the way you get to know Emma and the others who interact with her, through their shared thoughts and feelings. A tragic event unfolds in the course of the trip out west. Her father easily susceptable to get rich schemes takes Emma and the other survivors to Montana and deposits them on land they claim and then heads to the gold fields.

Emma and the others become pioneers doing what must be done. Each has emotional difficulties to overcome and preconceived notions to resolve. Uplifting and rewarding read. I am new to this author and fell in love with "Building Fences Mending Hearts". I am neither a crier in movies or books, but this story brought tears floating in my eyes. It's a terrific read without all the x-rated stuff found in so many romance books and often most unwelcome. If I could give ten stars I would, totally incredible read.

I have had this book for a while and finally settled down to read it.

The Things They Carried Tim O'Brien (Full Audiobook)

First of all, I liked the title and feel it fits the story so well. The story kept my interest and I identified strongly with Emma. Like others have said, you will cry with her and rejoice with her -- it definitely touched my emotions. The author is accurate in her knowledge of how it was in those days.

It was an easy read with just the right amount of romance.

Good story, a couple of scenes referring to sexual arousal could have been left out so the book could be enjoyed by "younger" readers. May 06, Kim Cartwright rated it liked it. Jul 07, Lisa rated it it was ok Shelves: While the plot kept me turning pages, I feel like the details were simply listed rather caressed and loved to life.
