This book is one of the exceptional books that really should be read by every animal lover, and others alike. It is fast reading while you listen to the experiences of the author as she takes a trip through animal land which is not too different from our own It is a true story by one who has developed great sensitivity to animals and their ways, and is able to relate what she knows simply and easily.

A great book which I would recommend to anyone who is interested in understanding more about life and how animals relate to us. Read it, and you will enjoy it!

I enjoyed reading about Wendy's selection and adoption of a vicious dog soon to be euthanized and taking the time to find and bring out Buji's good spirit hidden due to abuse. Buji continued life with Wendy as a loving, caring pet who found the author's cancer in a stage too early for tests to reveal.

Wendy is a animal pshychologist who observes and connects with animals to help their owners change bad behavior. Through her work and observations, Wendy shares life lessons she learned from Buji that invite more love and kindness and release past hurts and grudges. All dog lovers can see the truth and wisdom in Wendy's observations of Buji. Wendy's insights are not only helpful for dogs but humans as well.

There are so many life lessons tucked inside, and it is clear that Wendy has a great love for both animals and humans. Wendy is one of the most positive, upbeat people I have ever met, and she definitely practices all 7 lessons she talks about in the book.

Wendy is a phenomenal person and trainer I have 2 of my own "Bujis", and her training has changed our lives!! I highly recommend this book to animal lovers and non-animal lovers alike I enjoyed reading the book because I just adopted a 3 legged pitbull who has been in a kennel and is having a terrible time adjusting to family life with our house full of 4 cats and 2 other dogs.

He is very wild and aggressive and needs alot of attention. Preview — Buji and Me by Wendy Kelly. Head held high, I walked out of the shelter with the dog others had deemed hopeless.

Minutes later, I was banished from my own car by bared teeth and bristled fur, caught in the rain and dripping wet, foiled by the very creature whose cause I had just championed. I admit I only read it because I was sort of expecting something more or less in the level of Marley and Me. In a way, it is. It shows how living with animals not only dogs and opening your heart and soul to them may help you improve your lifestyle.

And while some ideas are actually pretty interesting for an instance, I had no idea dogs had the ability to detect cancer through a person's breath , most of the book consists on the repetition of ideas and things we can find in any other self-help book: The best characteristic of this books were the stories of how different animals well, actually mostly cats and dogs changed the lives of their "pet parents" not to say "their owners".

This is really more of a self help book than a book about Buji, but it combines the author's background as a psychotherapist and an animal behaviorist and talks about what our relationships with our pets can teach us. I really enjoyed the book and how the author relates to animals.

Jul 29, Deirdre Young rated it it was amazing. It speaks to the truth that animals can teach us and the truth that each of us carries inside. Animals are amazing teachers and have so much to give us. We are all better humans by becoming avid pupils of our four legged friends. Kelly is able to tap into their inherent goodness and purity and made me laugh and cry while reading it A refresher on the impact our pet relationships have on our lives.

This was a very easy read which reminds you of the relaxed way pets live. We can learn a lot from them. We can even change the world, one relationship at a time. Apr 17, Linda rated it it was ok.
