All this being said, I will be watching for James' brother, Reese's story. And hopefully in his book we will get to see more of Angela and James. This is a great quick beach read or book you need to make you smile and give you a warm fuzzy feeling. Apr 02, Angie rated it liked it Shelves: Her dreams come true wh Synopsis: I had high hopes for this one, strong female, cowboy, horses, ranch, colorado; the makings of something great!

While the story had great ideas and lines in it and the characters were fantastic, it was far too rushed. Falling in love within 3 days, doesn't work for me.

Golden Opportunity (Double M Ranch, book 1) by Donna Marie Rogers

If Rogers would have taken more time to let the story stretch its legs I would have really really loved this one. I would have loved to spend more time with all the characters. Nov 03, Jennifer rated it it was ok. Got this on loan through Amazon Prime. It was only 95 pages. It had the makings of a great story but everything just moved to quickly, but I guess it had to since there were only 95 pages to the whole thing.

I definitely wouldn't have wasted my one loan per month on this book had I taken the time to see how short it was. Really good A Feels good read. Love suspense, mystery and a guy you love to hate with a hot and steaming finish a charge of heart. Good the story that is one of a woman who's always dreamed of living on a ranch. I had read another book by this author and really liked it but this one was not as good. Too much purple prose, aw shucks speaking and a lot of repetitive phrases.

Bitterness ate at his soul until he thought he might choke on it. Reese's resentment of James had been going on for so long he could barely remember how the hell it got started. Over something minor, no doubt. And each year the rift between them had grown wider. Until Reese stepped over the line and lost James' respect for good. He shot to his feet and paced the floor for a few seconds, then headed to the sideboard to pour himself a bourbon. The welcoming burn blazed a path straight to his gut.

He downed a second and was about to pour a third when someone knocked on the study door. Shit, the last thing he wanted to do was sit through one of Meara's lectures. He set his glass down with a thunk, then stalked over and yanked open the door. Only it was Angela standing there in the dim light of the hallway, gazing up at him with those big blue eyes.

She wore an oversized New York Giants T-shirt that hung down to just below her knees, and she'd pulled her thick auburn hair up into a ponytail. She looked vulnerable and uncertain and more beautiful than any woman had a right to. And the bourbon was suddenly warming more than just his stomach.
