Amid the beings that he despises so much and, yet, who he cannot live without, Gideon will find his ultimate test for redemption. An exciting beginning to a very promising series, and I can't wait to read book two! Who knew angels could be so naughty? Well, perhaps Gideon wasn't quite and angel anymore, but he wasn't quite Fallen either. Due to his own rebelliousness, Gideon was sent out of Heaven to live among man and is cursed by his own rebellious spirit.

Naomi is an innocent in every way, and Gideon seeks to use her to get revenge on one of the angels involved in his punishment. But fate has other plans, and soon Gideon begins to lose his heart to the sweet woman he once sought to ruin. I love Cindi Fr Who knew angels could be so naughty? I love Cindi Friberg novels, and would recommend her work to anyone. Light and darkness, good angel, bad angel but you can always turn things around when you have a positive in your life - in this case "love".

Nov 21, Merissa Archaeolibrarian rated it really liked it Shelves: Rage and Redemption is the first book in the Rebel Angels series, and tells the story of Gideon, an angel not quite Fallen but very close, and Naomi, an orphan staying in a monastery under the watchful eye of Gabriel.

Gideon is being punished and the end time of his punishment is coming up, although he is unaware of that. He meets Naomi at the monastery is quickly becomes fascinated with her. This starts his journey of dealing with his issues, before the time runs out. This was an enjoyable read Rage and Redemption is the first book in the Rebel Angels series, and tells the story of Gideon, an angel not quite Fallen but very close, and Naomi, an orphan staying in a monastery under the watchful eye of Gabriel.

This was an enjoyable read, with very clear descriptions, both of the places and the characters. There were no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. Naomi faces her own challenges during this book, so it isn't all about Gideon. A complete tale in and of itself, yet giving a good description and introduction to the other Rebel Angels. I would give this author a 10 star rating, if possible. Cyndi Friberg has twisted and emerged every emotion I have. Rebel Angels 1 I am a huge paranormal fan and I am always interested in new stories of Angels. In this first book of Rebel Angels series Cyndi Friberg gives the reader everything, some mystery, suspense, romance, hot steamy sex, and a dash of redemption as well. Which will he embrace for all time? As a rebel Gideon is sent to earth among the humans to learn his lessons and to make a choice. In his quest to to anno Rebel Angels 1 I am a huge paranormal fan and I am always interested in new stories of Angels.

In his quest to to annoy a brother he finds himself questioning his beliefs regarding humans. He also finds himself falling in love with Naomi, a human charge of his brother. To save Naomi and himself will Gideon make the right choice? Will he choose the Light or the Dark? I really enjoy this version of good vs. In Rage and Redemption Gideon finds himself in the human world with free will and powers he that he needs to fight to keep control of.

Gideon is a complex character that I slowly learned to love, and Naomi the only one to tame him. This book was a good read if you like hot love scenes and good verses evil. I did find myself skimming over many pages of the love scenes as they felt over done and elongated.

Reading the true stories of people who had this basic human right taken away from them was even more difficult to read.

We must remember if we don't know our history, there is a chance that terrible things will repeat themselves. Thanks to John Railey, we get a fair documentation of this sad part of NC history. One person found this helpful.

Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. This chapter of American history has received little notice, but it should be shouted from the rooftops as one of the darker ones, its theories even contributing to the Holocaust. This is a book honoring the victims and their fight for some form of justice. A moving moral-coming-of-age story by a gifted and passionate white Southern liberal.

Full disclosure, John Railey is my husband.

  3. Review: Rage to Redemption in the Sterilization Age?

Well written subject matter really difficult to read about. Just not my thing. In his account of North Carolina's eugenics program, John Railey's voice shouts over the wicked silence of racial discrimination about which he writes! I loved this book. I learned so much. I felt I was there, living alongside the victims of eugenics whose stories Railey tells. Railey's book includes many touching personal accounts, where he lays bare his own prejudices through this wretched history. Although at times, it brought me to tears, it was in the end uplifting. I can't wait to read Railey's next journey to justice.

Rage and Redemption (Rebel Angels, #1) by Cyndi Friberg

This book is absolutely fantastic! It's such an incredible tale - one that I still have a hard time believing actually happened in this great country of ours. Having grown up amid racism in western Tidewater Virginia, the chapters "Resurrecting Memories" and "The Inner South" really hit close to home for me.

The author does a masterful job of painting vivid pictures of the scenes and cultures throughout this story. John Railey is a fine writer, and an even finer human being. This is a wonderful book about a very dark chapter in North Carolina's history. John Railey, who has been working on this story for more than decade, tells it beautifully. It is a nuanced story and while you feel terribly for the people who were victims of this system, Railey's writing does take you from rage to redemption and the grace that some victims have found.

I sincerely hope that this will be read in classrooms across North Carolina. We should not forget this horror, which played out mere decades ago. Railey is doing us all a public service with this lovely book.
