I read this book so long ago that when it was billed as a new release I got excited and downloaded it. Normally I hate it when that happens but I loved the story enough that hearing it this time was like the first time all over. There's a difference in the terms New Release and New to Audible. If there's a way to tell the difference with out having to look in my nook or audible libraries first I'd love to know it.

Great author, great book, great narrator! KC has created such an amazing world in IAD. Each character is unique and intriguing. My favorite part are the strong females and the alpha males of course. There couldn't be a more amazingly perfect narrator for this series.

I love his cadence and the accents. One of my favorites!! I want to thank Ms Cole for her gifted imagination, her many hours of work, her thought filled days, maybe sleepless nights conjuring up this exciting, riveting and emotional adventure and say that every lost hour, every minute and every second was so worth it as you've brought yet another spellbinding addition to the Immortals After Dark series. I don't mind my bloodshot eyes or my fatigue because you gave me a listen that I just couldn't, and wouldn't, break from until my bedroom grew light and the birds began to welcome a new day.

You gave me a proud but lonely, tortured and tormented Demon that I sympathised with, cherished and hoped he got his much deserved HEA, a Witch that first betrayed him but was loyal and loving in the end and a suspense filled plot that was filled with action, heartache, passion, drama, witty dialogue, snappy one-liners and humor, sizzling sexual chemistry, hot sex and paranormal beings that were gruesome, bloodthirsty, gifted, weird and wonderful.

Then you teamed all that with the much loved characters from previous books and added new ones that thrilled, chilled and totally entertained me. The final cherry on top was to have it read by the Maestro himself as Robert Petkoff's many accents enriched an already bulging story and breathed life and soul into it's many characters. Loved the whole series and this book was no exception!!

Great narration as always!!! Author keeps series interesting by introducing new races and new storyline developments in the overall main story. Where do I even start with this one? Ten books into this series and it's still going strong. Just when I'd settled into a sort of "routine" with these books, Ms.

Cole throws me for a loop! I think that Malkom is my favorite of all the males so far. God, I loved this guy! Who would've guessed that the super-scary vemon, a being that even intimidates the other supernatural beings of the lore, would end up being the one to capture my heart? Malkom was the perfect mix of masculinity and vulnerability. He was naive in so many ways, but forced to grow up early in other ways. From an early age, he endured unspeakable abuse. All of his life he'd been the property of those more powerful than him. When Malkom's last captors decided to use him as a Guinea pig, he was powerless to stop them.

Ultimately, they forced the demon to become a half-vampire, half-demon. He became an abomination, a monster that even the monsters feared. However, with his curse came unparalleled power. For the first time in his life, Malkom was powerful enough to exact revenge upon those who had wronged him. He took his revenge and reigned over his claimed territory fiercely. Carrow is one of the many supernatural beings in the lore that has been kidnapped by a human militia named "The Order". A witch, Carrow draws her power from the happiness of others.

Along with Carrow, the daughter of her friend is also in captivity. Ruth watched her mother get murdered in front of her. Now, she is Carrow's responsibility. With their powers blocked, Carrow and the others are defenseless against the humans. Carrow will do anything to secure Ruth's safe release. When the humans ask Carrow to trap a vemon in exchange for their safe release, she agrees. Carrow travels through a portal, arriving in Malkom's territory. Immediately, he scents her as his mate.

Carrow is perplexed by the huge male that manhandles her, while also treating her with tenderness. It is clear that he doesn't intend to give her up. Yet, he doesn't force himself on her when he easily could. Despite a language barrier, these two grow close. Malkom claims Carrow as his wife.

Surprisingly enough, she finds herself proud to claim him as well. Eventually, Carrow cannot escape the reason she was sent to Malkom. Before she can explain, her betrayal is revealed, severely damaging their relationship. Everyone he's ever cared for has betrayed him and Carrow is just the last in a long line.

This was definitely one of my favorites in this series, so far. I fell in love with Malkom, even as my heart was breaking for him. I found this book to be more emotional than most of the earlier books in the series. It really tugged at my heartstrings, but I loved every minute of it. It made me feel that love can arrive at any time and in the most unexpected ways. He is the master of voices - I love his deep vampire ones and he does an amazingly believable job with females. If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be? They were brought together by deception, but found the healing power of love.

Pretty much listened to this in one go - did not leave my house all weekend.

What can I say about Malkolm Slaine, the tormented hero of the story. He melted my heart from the get go. Carrow, the heroine was an equally fantastic lovable character. Their story was beautiful and has become my favourite of the series. The humour was as always, brilliant. I laughed my head off. I also cried for the first time in this series.

I re listened to it immediately upon finishing it, it was that good. As always, Robert Petkoff was outstanding.

His narration is so perfect for this series it's crazy. He literally lives the story. Would you consider the audio edition of Demon from the Dark to be better than the print version? What was one of the most memorable moments of Demon from the Dark? When the demon grips and spreads his hands in anticipation - like a kid in a sweet shop. Robert Petkoff's mispronunciation is annoying; but still, could not ruin the story. I would certainly listen to Demon from the Dark again. These books are an easy listen, the storeys are not rocket sience they are, boy meets girl with some unusual and interestig twists. Although the plot of each book is basically the same, they hold your interest because of the huge variety of characters and KC's skill in making them strong, exciting, vulnerable, interesting characters.

Malkom was my favourite character. He is a tortured sole, abused as a boy and betrayed as an adult, you can't help but want to make it all better for him. Of course the fact that he's described throughout the book as an Adonis certainly helps! How does this one compare? I have listened to a number of Robert Petkoff's performances and I think he has the perfect voice for these books. He has a smooth manly voice for the male characters but is able to lighten it, without it sounding silly, for the female characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting? Had I the time I would have listened to it in one sitting, it's definitely a page turner. It may seem an obvious statement but if you haven't read the Immortals After Dark series, I would start with the first book, as some of the storey lines refer back to previous books.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? I would to friends who like this gendre for sure. It is dark, sexy and well written. What other book might you compare Demon from the Dark to, and why?
