It's taken me awhile to read this book why I have no idea because Jessica Gadziala is honestly my favorite author and I have read all her other books minus two, one being the sequel to this book which I plan on reading right after this. I was unsure about the idea of a sex surrogate but it wasn't what I originally thought, Ava is so sweet and has a realness about her that is relatable for us normal girls.

The sessions between Ava and Chase are hot, sexy and tender. I could see there were real genuine feelings developing between Ava and Chase. Jessica has a way with making you fall in love with all the characters in her book, whether they play a big part or small.

As someone who has struggled with anxiety it was written truthfully, you know the author takes the time to develop the characters and creates a great storyline that you on one hand want to get to the end of the book but also at the same time you don't want it to end. If you have any hang ups and are unsure with description of the book push it aside and read it! It's so much than it may seem. Ava has suffered from anxiety most of her life and the resulting panic attacks.

Being around men is extremely difficult so her regular therapist makes a suggestion for her to see a different doctor. Enter the sexy hot doctor Chase Hudson. Her appointments with Chase are obviously going well and Ava is making progress and getting better. However it doesn't take long before Ava realizes she has developed deeper feelings for Chase and believes he only sees her as his patient. Professional lines gets crossed that have Ava running scared. The man was simple perfection! Hot, gentle, sweet, patient, understanding, smart, sensitive, and so much more. Ava's actions annoyed me a little.

She's a very likable character and I enjoyed her until she started becoming her own worst enemy.

The Surrogate Vigilante

Chase could tell something had changed in the way she started acting. Instead of talking to him about it when he asked, she ran. Literally ran and more than once. Runners are a major pet peeve of mine. The man is her doctor. Chase advised her at their first meeting that she had to be completely honest with him for the therapy to work and yet she lies to Chase and more importantly, she lies to herself making them both miserable. I wanted to pull my hair out and reach into my Kindle and thunk Ava upside the head.

Good books give us strong reactions though so JG certainly succeeded in getting my reaction for sure. Ava's roommate Jake and her friend Shay are great and I loved when they were all together and cutting up. A followup novella is available entitled Dr. I already have it on my Kindle to read next.

I believe it's part of this story told from Chase's POV but also provides readers some of his background and allows us to catch up with the couple. I discovered another bonus read on the author's website to read after finishing Chase's book. One person found this helpful 2 people found this helpful. First let me say that this story needs an editor.

There was one wording mistake that put such a silly mental image in my head that I laughed out loud! BUT, and this is a rarity for me, the story was still good enough for me to want to continue and see where it was going. Ava has had really bad experiences with sex. She has generalized anxiety, but whenever she tries to have sex only a handful of times , it always ends abysmally, which makes it that much worse the next time she tries.

She's tried traditional therapy, but her therapist suggests a sex therapist and surrogate, and sends her to Dr. Before Ava saw him, she was imagining all sorts of scenarios They agree to meet for his typical ten-session program, which starts very slow, leads to intercourse and beyond. Chase is extremely patient with Ava, and he's very aware of how she's dealing with things, partially because he can just tell and partially because he's in constant communication with her about how she's dealing with new experiences.

He's incredibly sweet with her. But when she starts to develop feelings for him and discusses it with the therapist who referred him, she's told it's just transference and is completely natural and temporary. It was kinda sad to "watch" them interact, knowing Ava was insecure and knowing how she felt about him. Also, seeing the things he did for her that seemed so outside the bounds of traditional therapy Thankfully everything worked out and it was really sweet.

They were a super cute couple. One person found this helpful.

I absolutely loved this story! I totally connected with Ava in this story and the research into sex surrogacy was so spot on doing my own research into it and this book popped up in my Google search! I really enjoyed reading this story and I can't wait to read more by this author.

A Family Miracle

The book was interesting I was hoping for a sequel where her roommate took on dr. But a good standalone story. I love, love, love Jessica's books. Each one gets better and better for me.
