Throughout the book one resonant lesson given by Morrie is that , love, compassion and empathy is what is needed to make our life meaningful. The setting is such that it resembles to a large extent to the scene from the epic Mahabharat when Bhishma on his death bed gives lessons on life to the Pandavas. The hibiscus and Morrie's relationship with it again reminds me of O. Henry's short story titled 'The last leaf'. Language is simple and can be comprehended by everyone.

You cannot put the book down until you reach the end of it and literally mourn with the author because you realise Morrie was not just Mitch's teacher but has become yours too. This book is too good to be missed. It is really an all time hit.

Many parts of this book are moving, but this one was hard to read, especially on an early train ride when I was in a quiet mood. It felt so real, I read the book twice. The second time, I had to skip over the chapter when he dies to avoid tears. YCteen publishes true stories by teens, giving readers insight into the issues that matter most in young people's lives.
