No more trains use this route, as the track has been converted to a 2. Along the way the nature of the the scenery changes constantly. A further natural phenomenon that is well worth a visit is Holmegaard Mose. In earlier times the Moor was especially valued for its turf, which served the, now closed, Holmegaard Glasswork, to fire the furnaces.
In the present day, botanical rarities, the unique wildlife and the large number of archaeological discoveries from the Early Stone Age and the Maglemoor attract visitors here. The Tystrup-Bavelse Lakes also contain wild life.
Visitors will find a rich variety of bird life. With luck you can observe one of the large birds of prey, which fly past to take a sample of the smaller bird life on offer. It is not unusual to see ospreys, peregrines, marsh harriers and honey buzzards. Nature has also a wide range of extras for all those who have an interest in natural history or would like to learn more.
