There are limits to how much dim-witting one can take, even in fluff It makes the men unsophisticated and unattractive! Here are 2 short examples of the writing and the annoying overuse no spoilers: Sighing, she glanced about the room for a moment. He smiled at his intented bride as she smiled at him. And some of the romance was well done. Jan 02, Shelby rated it it was amazing. Seriously, this is one of my most favorite books ever. I love love loved this book. Great romance and suspence the entire book. Read another book of hers as well.

Great romance, totally clean. I was totally sucked in from the beginning and couldn't put it down. Loved the characters and good story line. Mar 31, Lisa rated it it was ok Shelves: I didn't know what I was getting myself into. Essentially, it's a clean romance novel. I gave it 2 stars not because it was a bad book, just because I didn't like it. I found it too mushy LOTS of kissing, giggling, and swooning Jun 07, JaNeen rated it it was amazing. I really thought that I was not going to like the ending of this book but the author did a wonderful job of surprising the reader and making it believable. This book kept me on the edge until the very end!!

Mar 03, Andrea rated it really liked it. This is the second time I've read this book. I love everything by this author. Im a pathetic hopeless romantic so anything she writes cures my itch for the day Jan 03, Karina rated it it was amazing. Lovely romance, some adventure, and a bit of mystery! I will always fall for a masked man! This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. This was my first time reading this author, but I trusted the reviews.

It took me a little bit to become fully engrossed in the story, but once I did, I couldn't put it down until I had finished the book. I had a couple of different ideas as to the identity of our Highwayman, but I had it pretty well figured out correctly early on. I will admit, I have a hard time when the main characters declare their love and devotion after one or two meetings, especially when they know not This was my first time reading this author, but I trusted the reviews.

I will admit, I have a hard time when the main characters declare their love and devotion after one or two meetings, especially when they know nothing about each other. I get that you can feel a particular connection with someone, but when all you've shared are stolen kisses, it speaks more of lust than love.

Faris and Lord Lochlan, these are the 2 that I love together. Their relationship builds and becomes entirely believable while i still think her relationship with her Highwayman is hormonal more than substance. When she has to choose between Lochlan and her Highwayman, I'm team Lochlan all the way.

This was a fun story that dealt with some big issues the stalker Kade for instance. I highly recommend reading this one. Sep 15, Belinda Boring rated it it was amazing. I revel in the feelings I experience as I read about two people, who after they find one another begin this flirtatious dance with one another that inevitably leads to me covered in goosebumps and desperately in love with the hero. Because I review mainly on what I felt as I read and the kind of connection I made with the characters, it's enough to say that the storyline of the book added enough intrigue to keep me engrossed. It is the story of Faris, the young chambermaid who finds herself torn between two men who lay claim to her heart - the handsome rogue called the Highwayman of Tanglewood and the irresistible son of the Lord she serves.

Just when I thought I knew who the Highwayman was, something would happen and in a moment of doubt, I would start wondering all over again. As with all Marcia books, the story pulled me in and connected me straight with the characters. The excitement of finding her first love and the thrill that comes of her secret rendezvous with the Highwayman, Farris had me smiling and nervous for her as I slowly watched her relationship unfold.

With each passionate kiss and intimate embrace she shared with the Highwayman, I would get a shiver and feel a slight blush. The Highwayman was magnificent and appealed to me on so many levels. He was so heroic and sincere in his feelings for Farris and the way he would talk with her made me sigh. Add then Lochlan into the equation and I was a mess. Lochlan is one of my favorite Marcia men and I'm telling you right now, that man curled my toes.

I loved the sense of humor he had and the way he would defend Faris, even though as some pointed out, she was just a chambermaid. He was the valiant protector in the book and I found him incredibly sexy. I felt for poor Faris because the more she became involved with both of these men, the more tangled her feelings became.

If I was in her situation who would I have chosen? The rogue or protector? The stolen kiss in the twilight or the stolen kiss over a plate of pie in the kitchen? The kisses in this book are to DIE for and I'll proudly admit that one of my kissing book crushes is Lochlan. That man can kiss and the passion he shows is breathtaking. Watching her go through all the emotions connected with such decisions made it an amazing read. The more I read and the deep I became involved in the story, the more my heart raced and stomach dipped. I'm telling you that Marcia McClure has a gift when it comes to writing romance because she was able to tap into the secret desires of women's hearts and create the most extraordinary men.

This is a definite must read and one that would be a perfect choice for those new to Marcia. It doesn't matter how many times I read, my reactions are always the same and I'm left with the feeling that as long as there are books like this that celebrate that intimate, romantic connection between two people, that things won't ever be to bleak that we can't hope for a little romance of our own.

Jul 07, Kamery Solomon rated it it was amazing. That being said, even though I guessed right I doubted myself about a dozen times throughout the story. Marcia did a very splendid job keeping me on my toes through the whole thing: I don't even know where to start telling about how much I enjoyed this book. Let's start with the Highwayman. Riding around as the man of every woman's dreams isn't all he does, oh no!

U2 - Vertigo world tour - Live from Chicago 2005 full

He robs the mean, greedy, and nasty lords that treat their tenants poorly and take every cent they can get their grubby hands on. He then, like Robin Hood, gives back to the people. What a nice guy, right? Did I forget to mention he has a sexy accent? What a sweet girl she is! We find her being rescued from evil in the beginning of the story only to run into the Highwayman and have him steal her kiss. I guess love at first sight makes it ok to steal kisses, right? She actually gave him the kiss though so I guess that doesn't count as stealing: As it turns out, there are quite a few men who want Faris as their own; who will she choose?

You'll only find out if you read the story! I also want to talk about our books villain, Kade. What a piece of scum! Marcia not only knows how to make women swoon and squee over her hero, she knows how to make them want to take out the villain themselves. I very thoroughly hated Kade the Heinous so dubbed by a woman in the story, a very fitting name if you ask me , enough to donate a whole paragraph to Marcia in gratitude of her superior skills.

If you haven't noticed by now, I really loved this book you never know, there could be oblivious readers like me out there! A story that's well told deserves to be suggested and forced upon others to read, haha! I give it 5 out of 5 stars and plead with everyone to read it if they're looking for an exceptional time: This was a quick and fun read, and I read it when I was sick and needed something not too complicated or long. New Cover and Fun Trivia for The Highwayman of Tanglewood!

One of my favorite parts of the book is the little rendezvous with Faris and her highwayman. It is during this time that we get to not only see some sweet and endearing developments in their relationship, but also get to search for clues as to his hidden identity right along with Faris! I will admit that I pretty much knew who exactly our hero was going to be, but there were a lot of times in the book where I was second guessing myself and the fact that the author was able to do this is fantastic. The best part of these masked hero romances is the tension that builds up between the two during the course of the story because of mix ups and mistaken identities as well as the romantic tension.

So when the author is able to stump me on the heroes identity as well it only increases the tension and suspense, making me one happy reader.

  5. Faris as a character was very sweet and charming. I adored her and loved that even though she was innocent and naive sometimes she had a sharp wit that saved her numerous times as well as served to intrigue our hero more. Another character that I adored was lochlan. He was such a fun and humorous character.

Right from the beginning we see him doing his best to charm his way into fair Faris' heart, and succeeding, but the Highwayman's shoes are hard to fill. The highwayman was a mysterious and sometimes even playful hero. I really enjoyed learning more about him and even getting to hear his own thoughts. He is a very interesting character and extremely swoon worthy. Here is one of my favorite quotes from him: I highly recommend it to anyone who loves dashing rogues, a healthy dose of romance, and a little mystery.
