I liked it and if there were some of this series in the library I would probably read them but I just don't have the urge to buy any of them right now. That being said, this was a good book with a good mystery and I am glad I read it. Jun 30, Annette rated it it was ok. This had a good mystery, interesting characters, but it simply did not do it for me. Georgia Lee Maxwell has decided to restart her life in Paris. Her job is boring and her boyfriend is cheating on her.

Magic Mirror config and modules

At this point, there were some exciting and interesting events. For me, the story should have moved forward with clues and events to help the reader figure out what was happening. We get descriptions of what people are eating, Metro stations, what people wear, and other things that are not vital to the story. For me they were not even interesting. I felt bogged down. I wanted to like this book. I wanted to like Georgia Lee.

There is a mystery. There are characters who could be fascinating. For me, it did not happen. Mar 13, rachael price rated it it was amazing. She lands an opportunity to accompany a world-renowned art restoration expert to a museum in Paris, to observe and interview him as he restores a water-damaged piece in the museum. But while they are in the museum, two masked people invade the museum, wielding guns. They tie up Georgia, the art expert, and the museum curator, and they shoot the security guard. Then they steal a mirror. While the museum curator swears up and down that the mirror is one of the least valuable pieces in the museum, there is a legend that says that the mirror once belonged to the famous "prophet" Nostradamus.

Suddenly, Georgia Lee has the story of a lifetime. And the hunt for the mirror is on. It's a fast-paced romp with several surprise twists and turns, and it has a satisfying ending. This is a story about an American journalist who went to Paris to work. After settling into her new job, Georgia Maxwell visits a museum and discovers an ancient mirror that was supposed to belong to Nostradamus. This mirror if gazed into for a length of time, showed the image of the person doing different things, usually unhappy.

Aug 27, Jilly rated it it was ok Shelves: I think this was a debut novel for this author and to be honest I wasn't overly impresssed. Georgia Lee Maxwell is a journalist and on a whim she up sticks and moves from Florida to Paris.

She has a job as a Paris correspondent for a magazine and is happy with that. However she gets caught up in a murder at a museum and she then gets hooked on getting the story. A seemingly worthless mirror was stolen, but as she finds out more facts it seems that everyone wants the mirror. It once belonged to t I think this was a debut novel for this author and to be honest I wasn't overly impresssed. It once belonged to the French seer Nostradamus and may have some prophetic ability. Georgia Lee knows that if she can find out first, then she will a journalistic hero.

Aug 13, Valerie rated it really liked it. Well written, well paced, suspenseful with a little bit of humour and fun thrown in. The main character, Georgia Lee Maxwell, is likeable and witty, without being overtly quirky, domineering or cloying. The book was obviously well researched with the details about Paris, and the story about the magic mirror itself was intriguing. I really appreciated the good writing, editing, punctuation and grammar - the book is even guaranteed to be free of typos!

I'm looking forward to reading other books in Well written, well paced, suspenseful with a little bit of humour and fun thrown in. I'm looking forward to reading other books in the series. This mystery takes place mainly in Paris and there is lots of action, excitement, and dead bodies. Despite the murders, I found it a "light" read no serial killers and an easy style. Although upon reflection, the ending fit well with the tone of the book. I selected the book because of its reference to many locations in Paris that I have visited. Good light reading This is not the Maltese Falcon, but if you are looking for light reading this is enjoyable with some unexpected twists and turns. Aug 15, Wendy Britton rated it it was ok.
