Storm Flight, the final book of the series, picks up the story line of the preceding 4 books without skipping a beat. Berent delivers the information truth which to many of us never got from the folks in the White House.

The Vietnam era was a bad time in our history. A war we did not want to fight, but as the saying goes "Somebody has to do it". The despicable actions of the Johnson administration and especially LBJ and his Secretary of Defense should have been a call to action to impeach and imprison.

So many lives were lost and ruined because of these two men. Lives of dedicated service personnel who fought because it was their sworn duty and they did perform their duties much better than Washington's elite did theirs. There is constant action in Berent's writings and Storm Flight will not disappoint you.

If you follow each book of the series you not only see the people age and mature the way a war works on you. But, you see them become better humans for their sufferings through a really horrible war. A war in which the media and a certain segment of society placed the blame for death and destruction on the military. The military doing their duty and LBJ keeping one hand of the military tied behind their backs, making any victory impossible. My personal recommendation is don't miss Storm Flight, but be sure to read all of the books in this series.

You will get a whole new insight into what the US Air Force did and how it was accomplished. We owe so much to the men and women who served in Southeast Asia and were damned by so many. This is the final book in the five-novel series, and absolutely the best!

The main characters from the first four books are all here, as well as Duck-call Higgins and Court's nemesis one of many , General Austin. I really recommend reading all five books in order, but even if you only want to read this one book, you'll still be transfixed. Berent's descriptions of combat - in the air and on the ground - are incredibly detailed, vivid, and accurate.

It's no surprise that the author can so accurately describe what happens in an F-4 in combat. What's really amazing is that he totally captures the experience of flying the behemoth B I flew Bs for a lifetime - one year - and everything Berent writes is spot on, especially his description of the bureaucracy at SAC. Mark Berent really captures the fraternity of pilots in combat, the hijinks and the cameraderie.

If you want to know what it's like to fly combat, read these books. If you've flown in combat, this series will really strike a chord. When I read the first book in the series, it started me on a journey down memory lane, culminating with me writing my own series of novels about aerial warfare in Vietnam. It's been rewarding and cathartic. But, I gotta admit, my boks ain't nearly as great as those in this series!
