I picked up the pen again and tried to write more, but nothing happened. After that initial burst of inspiration, a curtain seemed to fall across my mind and, try as I might, I could not force myself to conjure up the words. One evening during a radio broadcast when I had time away from the microphone, I closed my eyes and sought guidance. In that moment, I knew what the problem was. I was in the way! I was trying so hard to put her message into my words that I was blocking hers.

Angel Unaware: A Touching Story of Love and Loss

It was so simple! All I had to do was stand aside and let Robin speak for herself. I was not the messenger; I was merely the instrument. From that moment on, the words—her words—flowed onto paper. I thought some times that You had forgotten me, Down There. When You lifted me up from the earth, just a few minutes ago, it was Sunday, and my Mommy and Daddy were crying, and everything seemed so dark and sad and confused.

And all of the sud den it was bright and clear and happy, and I was in Your arms. Was it the same for them Down There, Father? And now, Father, please. I called the manuscript Angel Unaware. I soon learned that the publishing business could be as tough as show business. Besides, they informed me, the reading public does not want to cry. Dale Rogers wrote Angel Unaware 10 years after Robin's death and donated ALL proceeds to foundations supporting special needs children.

The story is presented in a unique way It is nonfiction as far as content, but Rogers presents it in first person perspective in the voice of her daughter telling of her life from heaven. Very sweet story that will certainly leave the reader humbled. While we have made great strides in repairing many congenital heart defects, and in immunization, there are still problems in giving some children the best education for the individual. And some people continue to fail in recognizing the incredible value of people who are alternatively abled.

Every time I see a Down's syndrome child at work in school, sheltered workshops, or in routine jobs offered in many organizations, I can almost see Robin's beautiful smile This book was started just two days after Robin's funeral by the urgent prodding of God They said I had a very bad heart condition, and that I probably wouldn't live very long, but for mommy and daddy to go ahead with the tour, because nothing would happen for 6 months, anyway.

When she heard that, mommy cried; daddy told her again, "it's up to God now. Let's leave it with Him.

Entertaining a stranger or an angel? Hebrews 13.2

They were good to me - so good that sometimes I got to wishing my mission could go on a little longer. But every time that happened - every time I got "earth minded" - I would start thinking of you and how nice it was Up Here. That was when they said I had "a faraway look in my eyes and they'd try to snap me out of it.

Someday they'll know, someday they'll see clearly, instead of in their misty mirrors.

I'd never heard her pray like that before. One day she said to you: If it is, I'll use that healing to your glory, and all the rest of my life I'll tell people about it, everywhere I go. This book offers a rare glimpse into the private lives of otherwise very public figures, Dale Evans Rogers and Roy Rogers.

It tells the unique and largely unknown story of their lives of service through adoption of children in need who would have had little hope or quality of life without Dale and Roy's compassion, love, and tender care. This is also a story about one very special child with exceptional needs and a terminal condition, who came not to be served, rather as an Angel Unaware with far greater and lasting gifts for Dale and her family. The story is told through the eyes of a Down Syndrome child, yet delivered to us through the tender eyes and loving heart of a mother. It is a touching book with a profound testimony of faith, hope, and love.
