I also expect to learn more about the portion of scripture than what I feel or think-and was unimpressed with the the 'teaching'. That said, I will revisit the process of savoring a poprtion of scripture again, however I will not be coloring and marking as much. This in-depth look at scripture is great for meditating on God's word. That was very beneficial. This little book really helped me to dig into the books of Philippians and Colossians in the Bible. Using the inductive study method is a great way to really absorb the information. Kay Arthur does a nice job of breaking assignments down into daily increments so that it's not difficult to do.

Kay has systematized studying the Bible, developing a set of steps to follow so as to "mine" the details of the given book under study. Being systematized, it is accessible to lay persons, rather than scholars only. Other books in the series.

The New Inductive Study 1 - 10 of 29 books. I had studied these books written by Paul before, but as most know, you can never study one book too much! This was my first time purchasing a Kay Arthur book. She does a wonderful job of outlining the book as well as highlighting big topics of each chapter of each book. This book went through each chapter thoroughly. I loved how there was a lot of application questions and "food for thought" questions.
I was challenged in many ways. It also helped me to learn how to study my bible better. At the time I was working on disciplining myself to get into the Word everyday.

This really helped me to do so because it was a good amount of time to study, yet it was written to where I can have a good stopping point after each day. It was not a full on commentary, but for what I was looking for, it was just what I needed to help me go through these books of the bible. I highly recommend this source, especially for women. We did John, Romans, and Peter.

It is hard work and a lot of other books needed like a Strong's dictionary, Picture Bible Dictionary and another book to really delve in and know the book, so you might also need those tools. So you need to spend time with this and possibly other books to get something out of them. This is not your typical "fill in the blank" Bible study book. If you follow its plan it will help you delve deeper into scripture than perhaps ever before, and you will, therefore, profit from it proportionally more.
I recommend this to the group or individual who is not satisfied with the milk of the Word but would like more substance. The precept concept is an excellent way to study the word of God and Kay Arthur does it so very well. It helped me in gaining a better understanding of the bible and a deeper relationship wit God. One person found this helpful. Highly recommend this Precept study! This was very helpful to me in my study of Paul's book to the Philippians!
Helped me gain much insight and well, as the study's titled, to know Him better: Our family uses this series as it teaches you what questions to ask to study for yourself and come up with your own conclusions. In-depth, but too much so where you get bogged down.
