And so they did. Hennessey Boudreaux is getting ready to leave her beloved South Carolina to travel to Boston to begin college. She's savoring the summer months while working at a local writing program for gifted teenagers. One of the teenagers, Townsend Bartley, is less gifted as a writer than she is as a hell raiser. But money and power talk, and Townsend's mother, a well-known and respected writer, has plenty of both. The headstrong, self-destructive year-old is about to lock horns with her equally stubborn year-old camp counselor.

The story that ensues follows these two determined young women as they both try to sail through the murky depths that is young adulthood. Paired with the darkly beautiful Ryan O'Flaherty - self-styled lesbian and sometime womanizer - for the required fieldwork, Jamie slowly, and painfully, becomes aware that what she feels for Ryan is more than just friendship.

But, if she dares to break out of her establishment-fashioned, pre-ordained mold, she might find out that love, and life, have so much more to offer than she had ever dreamed. Seven months, eight months, nine months Exchanging gentle kisses at the top of Mt.
