E: Ron read lines in three different voices—his own voice, British, and German accent. German accent was perfect. Elijah got it right off the bat. Understood the character. Summer brought a sense of vulnerability and really got into character. She just let go and poured everything into it. She definitely teared up a few times. Makes the wait for the comic even harder.

You can follow the link to the whole transcript of the panel. Since the culmination of the first arc, the amount of elements of the story of Peter Pan that found their way into this book have slimmed immensely. No longer are there obvious story points or visuals that play homage to the tale. Instead, the loose interpretation covers tones, the basis of relationships and motivations, things that are more subtle. The undertones exist, and there continue to be the inclusion of many familiar characters.

On the whole, this story of Kurtis Wiebe is crafting is a beast on its own and a strong one at that. Look no further. Click on the photos to place a hold on the book. Lou Collins is caught in a cyclical curse of violent, gruesome deaths and new beginnings in the bodies of strangers. With no clue why, Lou desperately searches for a way to break the curse and cross over peacefully to the other side.

Then equally doomed Ella comes along. Click here for an interview with writer Kurtis Weibe on Bloody Disgusting. Peter Panzerfaust - Either I was blinded by how exciting the story was in the beginning, or the art in this book has really gone downhill. Repossessed - Ridiculously buff demons, strippers, and acid-trip coloring. Not my cup of tea. The End Times of Bram and Ben - Well, it started interesting…and ended with college guys talking about all the chicks they were gonna do now that the prudes were raptured away.

Art is so-so.

Peter Panzerfaust (2012)

Beta Testing the Apocalypse - A series of short stories, some abstract, some slice-of-life. The kind of book I have to be in the mood for, because reading it in the wrong mindset is more work than fun. I was definitely not in the mood to read it. Bravest Warriors 4 - I think this was the weakest of the issues so far, only because it focused so heavily on the crushes between the characters. Heart of Thomas - Beautiful, beautiful Moto Hagio. Legend of Luther Strode 2 - Picking up with some plot besides just over-the-top violence!

Silver Scorpion - Hero book set in the Middle East in which each successive person revealed to have super powers seems to have a disability or injury of some sort. I can see how it would be inspiring to kids. Neither the art nor the writing is outstanding, but this is a decent book. Womanthology Space 4 - As with every antholology, a mishmash of strong and weak art and storytelling.

The Smell of Sunshine is the story that stood out the most. Los Tejanos and Lost Cause - A beautifully drawn historical comic. Stereotypical physical racial characteristics are over-exaggerated. Comics about Cartoonists HC - An utterly awesome collections of vintage comics about the struggles faced by comic artists. Simultaneously completely relevant to modern artists and a window into yesteryear.

This second book, however, has put me off of the series. Some are clever, and some are not. This book falls into the downright frustrating category. Right now I collect 8 and read a few more from my boyfriend and brother.

Prior to the New 52 I was reading , so 8 is a lot to me who is still new to comics. Narrowing down my comics and staying within budget is tough business.

Legend of Luther Strode 2 - Mmm. Repossessed 1 - description makes it sound a lot like Supernatural, if demon posessions were common knowledge and dudes were hired to exorcise them. Beta Testing the Apocalypse - Another one of those vague descriptions that leads me to believe this will be a flow of consciousness that might center around the themes of technology and self-destruction by humanity.
