A handy resource list would be helpful. I believe anyone who plans to start a restaurant should read this book. Pay me a visit I flipped through most of the pages and read quite a few tidbits.
I'm surprised this book didn't cover how much the owners should pay themselves and didn't cover who should get what percentage of tips. I could not find the word 'tips' mentioned anywhere. The specific restaurant knowledge in here needs to be complemented with experience in the business, but the authors are not trying to replace experience with this book. It's a great book for helping one decide whether to take the plunge and open their own business. One person found this helpful.
I have purchased several of these books in the past. Any time that I want to learn in detail something new and how to go about it. The book really is a great learning tool. Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. There are so many details in successfully operating a restaurant, so it's not likely that any one book will cover it all. This book is pretty good and covering the most important components of operating successfully. The book is very weak on business plan so I would not buy it for business plan purposes, but it is a good read and it will help you remember all those important details.
I am not in a failing prospect at the moment because I took the time to read this and figure out our idea would fail before I spent a ton of money! Very Helpful to someone who doesn't know anything about running a restaurant. The book has tons of information about running a restaurant but it can be dry and give some misguided tips about working in the restaurant industry. This book is a great resource for anyone interested in starting a food business. It covers all of the basics thoroughly by someone who has been in the business and knows what talking about.
