Sep 25, Quirkyreader rated it it was amazing. Initially I was going to blog about this book on my Forgotten Fiction page, but I didn't. The reason being is that one of the stories "The Monster Maker" was made into a film. And lately this film had been included in Horror DVD megapacks.

So yea for all of us. Morrow is not forgotten. And have no fears. This book is easily found on the Project Gutenberg website. Morrow has always had enthusiasts, but not many readers. His work somewhat resembles that of his friend Ambrose Bierce, in that horror and irony are its main components, but some of Morrow's ideas are bizarre--one might say sadistic-- even by Bierceian standards. Not all the stories in this collection are first-class, but some are truly unforgettable. There are several versions of it circulating from different "print-on-demand" publishers, but this one, prepared by Kevin Sweeney, is surely Morrow has always had enthusiasts, but not many readers.

There are several versions of it circulating from different "print-on-demand" publishers, but this one, prepared by Kevin Sweeney, is surely the best, since it has been carefully proofread. A larger collection, edited by S. Joshi, is now out of print.

One further note——Morrow did not usually write supernatural fiction: Strange tales of unfortunate fates and nasty individuals or nasty fates and unfortunate individuals. These are quick and often slyly cynical stories that occasionally frighten, but almost always give a nice jolt of vintage weirdness.
