They have rules like no sex with humans or sex before age There are sufficient reviews detailing the plot so I'm not going to provide another synopsis. The pace of the story drags as over 50 characters are revealed.
The story leaves the reader with multiple unanswered questions. I guess my lesson learned is to stop buying all the books in a series before reading the first book at least. I loved the mystery of vampires hidden in "plain" site. This is the first book I have read by this author. I look forward to reading her other books. Please get on board. Man merkt, dass sich die Autorin durchaus etwas bei dabei gedacht hat und ihre Ideen sind sehr gut. Der Roman ist der erste Band der Reihe Eternal. Ich bin allerdings etwas erstaunt, dass man Die Vampire von Clare Point nur noch als eBook kaufen kann. Aber auch die Liebe zwischen Fia und Glenn kommt absolut nicht zu kurz.
So sind die Vampire der Stadt Clare Point zwar auf eine Art unsterblich, werden aber nach einem Lebenszyklus immer wieder geboren. Die Protagonistin Fia begleitet man beispielsweise mehrfach auf "Beutejagt" und sogar auf eine "Blutparty". Sie wollen um jeden Preis Aufmerksamkeit vermeiden, weswegen die Morde sehr ungelegen kommen. Er darf nicht davon erfahren, dass es Vampire wirklich gibt. Dieses Hindernis bringt Fia immer wieder in schwierige Situationen. Die Ermittlungen gestalten sich als schwierig, da Glenn Duncan als Mensch Misstrauen entgegen gesetzt wird. Ich hoffe allerdings, dass sie weiterhin eine Rolle spielen, denn ich mochte beide Charaktere sehr.

The townspeople are frightened, as they should be, because this sadistic killer has beaten and cut off the head and feet of one of their own. But this is not just any killing. Fia is also a vampire, who has left her family and made a life in Philadelphia, working with the FBI. Fia has been called in on this case and, because it has happened practically in her own backyard, she will do everything she can to find this killer. And to make matters worse, he is the exact duplicate of her human lover from long ago.
Fia lost her heart and almost her life to another human male who used her to try to kill everyone in the town.

Fia is also reverting back to her old ways by trolling bars and taking the blood from anonymous men. As she tries her best to protect Duncan, she can no longer deny her attraction to him.
Similar authors to follow
Duncan starts to feel the same about Fia and wants to be more than just her partner. The vampire myths readers are so used to are very much changed in this story. Forrest has taken an old legend and made it her own. I really got the sense and the atmosphere of what a small town is like, especially with Fia visiting local haunts from her youth, such as the various bars and restaurants, as well as hanging out with old friends. Kaleigh has secrets that could destroy the case and allow the gruesome killer to never be found. I was surprised by the killer's identity and absolutely had no clue who it could have been, which shows how great a writer Forrest is.

I found this story very interesting and the mystery kept you going right to the end, although at times I did feel annoyed that she kept blocking her family telepathically and ignoring their calls, especially with a killer on the loose Encore une fois voici une romance paranormale avec des vampires. The religious aspect and the constant religious phrases was absurd. I didn't like that they kept reincarnating after they died into senseless teens. Some teens are a lot smarter than the ones in this novel in real life and I found them to be annoying. Instead of it being a paranormal romance it felt more like a badly written supernatural mystery.
The crimes where mentioned but the evidence was scant. Towards the end of the novel, Fia happened to stumble u There was so much wrong with this novel. Towards the end of the novel, Fia happened to stumble upon who was committing the murders. Glen wasn't much help on the case anyway but then again, he's human and didn't have a clue what was really going on and that vampires exist. The vampire victims where randomly chosen for the most part and Fia wasn't really in danger or next on the the agenda until she happened to appear on the scene.
The romance part of it happened really late in the book.

And the fact she fell for someone who looked like her ex from her past was a bit much considering what he did so long ago. How does Fia a vampire expect to explain her long lifespan to Glen a mere human who of course will notice? How long does she think she can keep hiding from him her true nature? Especially since she keep bags of blood in an empty ice cream carton which he might stumble upon.
Also things where just thrown in like the part about who was committing the crimes as if it was an after thought. It's not worth continuing in this series. There r too many wonderful authors with a much better put together story line to read. Toutefois, au vue des commentaires de certains je me suis laisser tenter et je ne le regrette pas.
