And that is just one album. What does make Power of Peace a great album title, by the way unique is that the entire album was recorded with The Isley Brothers. When you listen to the album, you have to wonder why it has taken till for these guys to team up.

SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: THE ISLEY BROTHERS & SANTANA – POWER OF PEACE

The album is exactly as you would expect, slickly produced, full of amazing playing and some of the sweetest vocals this side of Heaven. Keep in mind that Ronald Isley has been singing with The Isley Brothers since and his vocals sound as good today as they did 62 years ago. Sure, a bit deeper and a bit older but he sounds stunning. There are some ballads here, too. Santana 's melodic presentation is matched by Ernie 's tough blues phrasing.

The lone original, "I Remember," is a gorgeous, bittersweet samba written and sung by Cindy ; it's the only tune here that retains its restraint throughout though Carlos is tempted to shred near the end. The set closes with a complete reinvention of "Let There Be Peace on Earth," offering a stellar portrait of what the Santana band does well especially with an ace guitarist like Ernie aboard. Ron, whose voice is undiminished by time, soars above the band and chorus to end it all on a spiritual tip. Power of Peace is loose, but everybody brought their chops to the party.
