This is a great book for a middle school girl who is battling with identity to read. Brooklyn's story is similar to so many teen girls who battle between the world's perception of them versus who our Heavenly Father perceives them to be. It's not necessarily a self-help book but more of a collection of stories from Brooklyn's life and what she learned from them. If you've ever heard Brooklyn speak you know that she is clever, entertaining, and to the point.

Confessions of a Not-So-Supermodel: Faith, Friends, and Festival Queens by Brooklyn Lindsey

At first, I didn't really feel anything towards this book but on one of the last pages I was hooked. I was hooked because it spoke a truth to me, a truth that I was depending on others and not God. It struck a cord deeply and I know God is showing me that I need to lean and depend on Him. Mar 31, Sophia rated it really liked it Shelves: This is a book I wish I read in junior high. It has great advice in it about the real modeling God wants us to do, and it's not found on a runway or magazine. I will most likely read this book again. Brooklyn does a great job of getting the point across to young ladies that they are indeed beautiful in the eyes of God, no matter what a "Vogue" world may tell them. After I read this, my wife and daughter are reading it together, and I purchased extra copies to give to friends.

It's a great book for teenage girls to read. The discussion questions are great to be discussed with a leader. It has great potential for teenage girls to form an accountability or mentor type relationship with an adult. One person found this helpful 2 people found this helpful. Well, I grant that I'm not exactly a member of this book's intended target audience but Mrs.

Lindsey has crafted an interesting memoir that will undoubtedly inspire many a young girl.

She wisely points out that even though she dreamed of once becoming a supermodel her successes never yielded genuine fulfillment. Upon forging a relationship with Jesus Christ in high school her new faith served to greatly diminish her satisfaction at being a festival queen. One of the things I really enjoyed about the book was all the quotations from scripture that she included in her narrative.
