One night isn't enough to initiate her into the world of sexual pleasure! Book 2 in Clare Connelly's Guilty as Sin duet. I enjoy the finer.

Sebastio then quit rugby and turned all his attention to the banking empire that he'd inherited from his father. On the surface of it all, the H functioned as a normal person but he was a mere shell of a man whose survivor's guilt made it impossible for him to indulge in anything that would make him happy. He lost all interest in partying, hated celebrating holidays like Christmas and even lost interest in sex. At the start of this story, our H has been totally celibate for 4 years! This is the H, Sebastio: The heroine Edie is a 23 year old creative display artist for a department store.

She's also a cancer survivor who is still afraid to embrace all that life has to offer because she thinks that if she's too happy, then she might blight herself and the cancer might return. Edie had first met Sebastio 4 years ago in a nightclub just after she'd been declared cancer free. It had been just before his accident had occurred, during his playboy era, so the encounter had not been positive for the heroine.

She'd had a huge crush on the rugby star H and had gone up to talk to him, thinking that they'd shared a connection based on some hot and sexy eye contact: The H, however, had just dismissed her politely because she'd looked too naive and innocent for a guy who was determined to mingle only with experienced women of the world. At the start of the story, the MC's meet again when the H is walking down the street and is struck by Edie's fresh beauty when he sees her decorating a department store window.

It's the first time in 4 years that his libido is reacting, with interest, to a woman. He doesn't remember her from their first meeting 4 years ago, but Edie recognizes him immediately and this time she's not sighing with bliss and romantic dreams: But this time, the heroine is shocked to see him staring at her so avidly! This is the heroine, Edie: Sebastio is so fixated with Edie that he arranges, with her employers, for her to decorate his mansion for a series of Christmas events. At first he tried really hard to be professional and treat her like another employee but their chemistry kept getting in the way of normal business interactions after she moved into the mansion.

Edie also went out of her way to avoid spending time with him because she was still bitter about the way he had dismissed her in the nightclub 4 years ago. But eventually, the H loses the battle and gives into his desire for Edie after he notices other men ogling her at a party and gets jealous: He could already see heads swivelling, hear whispers. One man near the door looked as if he was about to approach Edie because she was looking so hesitant, but Sebastio strode towards her, sending silent signals to that man and others to back off. Possessiveness and jealousy were emotions that were new to him; he'd never felt that way over a woman before.

The MC's eventually give into their desire for each other and the H seemed to be truly besotted with Edie. He kept telling her that it's just a temporary holiday relationship, yet he continued to prolong their fling by devising new ideas to keep her with him throughout the Christmas season. She was the first woman he'd ever bought a gift for - a gift that he'd actually chosen himself and the first woman he'd invited to his island off the coast of Argentina.

Edie was also the first person he'd confided in about his issues concerning the accident. The H was treating her like a special princess and everything seemed fine until he found her positive pregnancy test. She was smiling and happy because it was a miracle for her to conceive after she'd been through chemotherapy. But he misinterpreted her happiness and thought she was just smug that her plan to trap him had come to fruition.

You told me something had happened to you. She had.

The chances were so slim Evidently not slim enough. Sebastio was shaking his head. Blinded by lust. I should never have believed you. I should have listened to my gut when it told me your act of innocence was just that. But I will admit that faking your virginity was a master move. His confession of love was sweet and his proposal, at her workplace, was filmed by eavesdropping shoppers who were shamelessly looking at the guy who was down on his knees begging the girl, in the department store window, to marry him: Edie looked at Sebastio, her eyes filling with helpless tears.

I want it all with you. A family. A home. So will you? Marry me, Edie? She launched herself at Sebastio and he tumbled back onto the very expensive oriental rug on the floor. In the epilogue the MC's are once again celebrating Christmas with their toddler daughter, their chocolate Labrador dog and are also expecting another child. View all 36 comments. I loved this book. Very sweet and romantic Christmas story. Epilogue with their daughter and pregnant heroine was short but so sweet!

See a Problem?

Cancer is one of my triggers and this story bugged me from the opening. So much so, that I started taking notes as I read. AG is hit or miss for me — mainly because of her heroines — and that was the case I see everyone loved this one. AG is hit or miss for me — mainly because of her heroines — and that was the case here.

Let's keep in touch!

He rushes in and offers her a job decorating his country house for the season and she automatically says no. Because she had met him four years before at a night club and he had rejected her advances. I can understand why that traumatized her. She had gotten an all-clear of the cancer that had been plaguing her and this was her first foray into the world and into flirting. Hero could have been nicer when he turned her down.

But he was with other people at the time and she was only Her boss presses her to accept and she does under loud protest. But she does it in a mealy-mouthed way since she accepts all of these things eventually. AG is telling the reader this. This was an opportunity to move on with her life. The hero leaves her a gold dress to wear to his next party, but that is a bridge too far for the heroine. She accepted the teal dress — but not this one. She quits and returns to London with this thought: She clamped down on the stupid sense of self-pity.

Are you kidding me???????????????????????????? Edie had customised it with an eye-patch. Yes, our poor hero had such cruel parents that they killed his one-eyed dog after his grandmother died since there was no one around to take care of it. So this was the turning point in the story for me. At least the heroine thought about someone besides her poor self-pitying self for two minutes. Then I really perked up when the hero reacted cruelly when the heroine realized she was pregnant.

  • To her it was a miracle baby — to him it was a trap of becoming emotionally entangled and then having his happiness snatched away. AG did a great job with that since she had set the hero up this way all along. The heroine not so much: She was so slender, fragile.
