I want to incorporate both Norwegian and Scottish elements into my wedding, and we're not too bothered about sticking to traditions. We'll pick and mix what suits us. We've chosen the Isle of Skye tartan for groom and best man, as h2b proposed to me on Skye this summer.

My brother, who's giving me away, will be in traditional Norwegian folk costume plus a few of the guests from Norway will wear folk costumes, too. We'll have a 'traditional' wedding cake with a personal and artistic twist!

There'll probably be more speeches, too, as Norwegians have lots at their weddings Oh dear And I'm hoping the Scottish guests won't get too carried away with the Norwegian tradition of banging cutlery on the table to get the bride and groom to stand on their chairs and snog!!! We're having a piper and a ceilidh band for a couple of hours, then a disco for the remainder of the evening, so again a bit of a mix. I think a whole night of ceilidh might be too much for some! Probably lots more traditions that will be incorporated - just can't think of them now! Vikingbride x.

“Gretna Greene”

Were a bit of a mix. Getting married in Scotland. H2b is Northern Irish, im Scottish and we are both living in England.

Quoted: I'm a Scottish bride with English hubby to be, we live just outside London but will be married in Edinburgh next month. When you find out will you let me know so i can stop pretending too!!!! January As we live in Tenerife and are not roman catholics it is so difficult to get married here unless you go to the town hall, which is not the most romantic thing as the service is in spanish and then literally translated into bad english, they also read out all your addresses and national insurance numbers etc!

I'm from Ayrshire originally and h2b just loves the area and how green it all is! When we got engaged he told me that we will get married in Scotland as better than "grey" St Helen's and all his friends will be so taken aback with the beauty of Ayrshire! We'll have a Piper welcoming the guests and "piping" me all the way to Steve!

We're just having a normal wedding band but they play a few ceilidh songs, been trying to teach h2b the Gay Gordons but he just cant get over the fact we all learnt these dances instead of P.

Again, I knew that if I ever got married it would have to be at 'home' in Scotland even though I left at 18 and have lived in England ever since - 10 years Scotland will always be home. Getting married in the church I grew up in, and also where both my sisters got married.

Maweebug - we are having the red rose and thistle theme too for the same reasons!! We are having lots of Scottish things as H2B's family are all English and having quite a few weddings in the family over 2 years, so wanted to make ours that bit different. Ceilidh band, piper, H2B and ushers in the Black Spirit kilts, everyone is soo excited!!

Good luck to everyone in their planning!! MrsBarrowman Posts: Under Tysen's protective eye, Mary Rose makes his sons and precocious daughter smile--and also behave.

More importantly, she makes him smile, too. In fact, Mary Rose makes Tysen do--and feel--a lot of things he has never done or felt before. Coulter's clever, conversational style and ready wit in The Scottish Bride will delight and amuse fans as they relish this unexpected treat! Terri F.

Jaye P. I loved this one the best of the series.

The Scottish Bride (Sherbrooke, book 6) by Catherine Coulter

Michelle D. Good read. I didn't like it as much as some of her others, but it was interesting. The hero's personality "changes" when he meets the heroine, but the reader doesn't realize it until he does, later in the book. His internal conflict I have only read one of the previous and 2 of the later books in the series, so I would be interested in knowing if his character was defined earlier.

I think I would have liked to see the change more at the begining as it may have added strength to their relationship. It was still a good read, but not my favorite from Coulter. I will probably go back and read some of the earlier ones to see if this helped. Bethanie D. I gave this book pages and really didn't enjoy it. I thought the dialogue was very dry and seriously got the impression that people just don't interact in real life like Coulter's characters did in this novel.

It is my usual practice to give a book pages to capture my attention and this book really failed to do so.
