I always feel the perfect chemistry between hercharacters, that was never an issue and this book was not anexception, I thought their connection was beatiful and I rooted forthem to make it.

I also really loved how much both characters grewby the end of the book, but especially Vince, who dealt with someof his prejudices and preconceptions in the way he could neverimagine he would. She also always managesto surprise me. Because of the title I was expecting somethingentirely different -- something close to the In Search of Saints, maybe?

But what I got was a beautiful, painful journey through anasphalt jungle. An adventure equal to climbing a mountain. The thingI deeply admire about Harper Fox's writing is her ability toportray surroundings in such a vivid and emotional way. In ScrapMetal it was the gorgeously rough Scottish landscape and weather, but she does it as beautifully with the city view, the pavement andthe buildings! I find myself reading her poetical sentences overand over again and enjoying their pure beauty. Her sentences arelike powerful brush strokes that leave colorful, vibrant lines onthe canvas.

If this book was a painting I would hang it above mybed and lose myself in it every night. I recommend this book alsobecause of its characters. They are put through struggle, theylearn from their mistakes and they have their hearts in the rightplace.

The recent return of Holiday magazine is a great example of something coming back in an ever better version than it left in. But the even more recent Interview reboot is a disaster. What was the golden age for fashion magazines in your opinion? There are still great photographers, brilliant editors, and innovative art directors and whenever one publication slacks off, another one always come to the fore. What magazines do you buy now and why?

Plus, I subscribe to all the key American magazines. The reason? It's fair to say you don't think fashion mags are done at this point? I think you already know my answer to this question! Other magazines have slimmed down alarmingly, but fashion still seems to generate the ads needed to support solid editorial wells, and some excellent publications manage to survive on their own steam and enthusiasm.
