Hennessy Elsevier , 13 de out. Reading was mainly by memorization, not by recognizing the word and reading. If the kids really tried to recognize the sight words in the books, they lost comprehension of the book it seemed and thus the enjoyment of reading. Since reading Level 1 - books 1 and 2, my son is excited about reading again.

It's not learn a set of words, move on to a new set, and do not see the old words again as it was in his school's flash card set up. The guy who wrote it is a genius. It's a great tool for students especially yr olds, who developmentally don't pick up reading quickly even though they've been taught all the sounds and likely their readiness doesn't click in until 2nd-3rd grade. Level 3 is a continuation with the first two books and it continues very seamlessly. I really like that Mr. Gibson took suggestions about introducing the teacher instead of his being a stranger to the reader. With problems all over with children being stolen or abused by strangers that was the only problem I had with the first two books. Gibson introduces the man as the children's teacher and that makes the books more understandable to me. I was raised with the Dick and Jane books in kindergarten, although I was already able to read by the time I started school thanks to my dad , but to me these book make teaching children to read so much easier so that the children can soon be reading them themselves.

Wonderful work Mr. This is a different approach than what I remembered when I was a kid, but this reminds me of a method of the teaching methods used overseas for English. The repetition helped in memory retention for older learners. The cartoons are cute and would be nice for youngsters beginning to read. Great for beginbers. It will teach them to read on their own in a fun way. It reminds me of the Dick and Jane books.
