Facing criticism for a sluggish response to the House impeachment probe, the White House has answered with an accelerated talking-point operation aimed at stuffing email inboxes of Republican lawmakers, surrogates and other allies on each day of the public hearings. A total of about emails were sent on the first two days of public hearings last week. The operation, which includes nine White House aides, has the feel of a rapid-response team that a political parties and presidential candidates regularly organize for debate nights.
