There was also a truck permanently parked. I am guessing it belongs to the owner? The space is small and one has to do some maneuvering to get out of the property. However, at times there were 4 cars parked PLUS the truck so it made for some interesting navigations. We were looking forward to lounging around the pool but obviously with the noise and clouds of red dust floating onto the deck chairs and into the pool, that was not to be. Not one single channel on the TV was actually tuned in.

We eventually asked them to attend to it and the result was that the sports channel which was regurgitating the same rugby game over and over was the only channel that had a decent picture :!!! We felt cheated!!!!

This place is also on the corner of a busy street. I found the traffic noise quite disturbing at night. We were helped by two lovely young men I think their names were Wedson and Rashied? One handled the reception and the other was the security guy. They were both very helpful, keen and friendly. They seemed to have a struggle to understand us but they were so obliging and pleasant. They did however seem hesitant and lacking in confidence at times. That, we guessed, was to do with the language barrier.

Those men were a credit to the establishment. They are working under really difficult conditions. The room could have been cleaned and windows left open for fresh air for our arrival. It was just so stuffy when we walked into our room and there was a lot of dust on the side tables. There were cockroaches in the bathroom.

The bed was very hard. The TV channels are not well connected so all you see is snow! They could have done with a simple DStv package for more options as they also accommodate kids. The staff was not helpful, when hot chocolate ran out from the coffee machine - one of the staff members was alerted and did nothing about it. Their breakfast lacked love in preparation. Overall bad experience. I' openly informed staff about the issues, but all they could say is sorry, but showed no remorse at all.

The only nice thing about the place is the swimming pool, but that's about it. I didn't use any facility due to not having enough time. No hot water linen was dirty, rooms was dirty no even a glass of water In room. The surroundings was good the place is in a good naborhood. No dstv and building under construction. Fails advertising. In complete complex Not safe at all Fails advertising. The place had a bad smell of a place that hasn't been occupied in a long while.

Place still under construction, make it messy. Aircon undersized for room.

Poor bathroom accessories. Location Size of room. Shower mixer was difficult to mix water. Room was beutifull, big. Poor wifi. The guys were very sweet. The TV channels are limited.

Clean linen and room and friendliness of staff. Very friendly staff and beautiful rooms. Rooms too dark. Availability at last minute. Value for money didn't quite add up. On a few occasions, a member of staff was quite difficult to find. Breakfast was fine, but again, not really at the level the price would suggest. I tried to pull out a coffee table to find a plug socket at one point, and it collapsed as I did so, as it was propped up by a hidden piece of wood.

So, small finishes weren't quite there. Excellent location for Florida Road, and a plush looking place.

View of the city from there wasn't bad either. Electricity tripped every night and the gate couldn't open and was stuck couldn't drive out for hours. Had to wait for hot water as the geyser also tripped. It was comfortable and very clean. We were lead to believe the place was full yet we were the only occupants. The main road nearby could be noisy if you opened the window. View of Durban was lovely. The breakfast was quite standard and didn't really match the high price of the hotel during peak season.

The wifi was quite slow. The hotel is beautiful and in a good location. There were two small windows, one looked directly into the bathroom and the other was frosted glass, effectively meaning there was no view out of the room at all. The window looking into the bathroom was not frosted glass, giving a lovely view directly onto the toilet if you looked through it.

Not ideal for two people sharing a room. Neither of the windows had any coverings at all, so daylight streamed through from an early hour. It would have been interesting to see what a standard room had been like, compared to our deluxe room. Luckily we only need a base for one night to explore the city from, otherwise we would have requested changing rooms. Good location for Florida Street with the restaurants and bars, a traditional old house with large public area rooms. Good views from the common parts.

Great location and tremendous value for money, especially with a delicious breakfast thrown in. Staff were friendly and helpful. The owner, Abdul was super friendly and a very interesting man. Tv signal was not good and there were limited channels. Staff was always ready to help and was friendly.

Checking in was quick and easy. Breakfast was nice. The welcome was amazing! We arrived just after 7pm, it was raining, then we see 4 gentleman waiting for us at the entrance. One had a umbrella waiting for us. We were helped with our luggage very kindly.
