While it might sound American, it does not refer to the U. Marine Corps. Instead, it refers to the Royal Marines. To understand this, it is important to note that there sometimes exists a rivalry between the different branches of the military. The navy sailors used this expression as way to call the marines gullible. In in the United States, a recruitment poster shows a variation of the phrase and an enraged civilian who wants to enlist.

This sense of the phrase has appeared in many American books, films, and other media. The film Tell It to the Marines shows the American media using the phrase in the context of the Marines as tough fighters rather than as gullible naifs. The phrase was the title of a series of war comics from Toby Press [10] and a album of Marine songs by Oscar Brand. Sheet music cover of Al Jolson song mimics Flagg's poster. World War II propaganda poster of the " loose lips sink ships " variety implies trustworthiness.

It allows us to read more about the characters' personalities, which I really appreciate. Because I'm not a big fan of characters jumping at each other straight away the moment they met. The novella starts with a troubled man seeking the help of our main character James Westwood, who is a psychologist.

James signed up for the 1Night Stand Service and imagine his surprise when he sees movie star Lauren Kincaid. I really salute her agent for Oh yum!

I really salute her agent for the ability to encourage Lauren to sign up for the 1Night Stand Service. I mean It could get really ugly when people found out about it, being a star and all. Luckily for her, it didn't happen even though it could get a little exciting. Their little date was interrupted when there was a call for James which leads us to a little crime scene of the unstable man. What will happen to their date?

Will it end there? Totally enjoyable with great story build up. I'd really love to read much more about James and Lauren.

Tell It To The Marine (Always A Marine, #3) by Heather Long

Really liking the male characters in this series. They are truly Heroes - strong but gentle, and I like how they treat their dates with humour and lightheartedness, truth and respect. Loved the twist on the actress heroine reaching out to have a conversation as a form of counselling, although not something that might be ethical in reality.

Both characters were sexy, fun, caring and compassionate. It was heartwarming, fun and sexy all rolled into one quick read. The author did an exceptional job of telling a complete story in a short amount of space. I was engaged with the story and characters from page one right on through and definitely was satisfied with the ending.

This was another great short story!! These characters are my favorite of this series so far! I enjoyed that we got a bit of info about the previous characters as well. This was a nice story. Not a blazing heat, but a slow simmer. I liked the maturity and sophistication of James and Lauren. They had great chemistry — it was nice to see them connect.
