Because of how predictable the story gets, and how Boseman fails to give this film more than violence, that is why Palmer suddenly become the best thing about the film. Much less these rather short action scenes become considered a highlight. Originally I was going to watch and review this Friday but it bored me into going to bed early.
So, I spent a good portion of my Saturday struggling to finish this. Of which I was living off the peaks which were the fight scenes and Palmer giving some sort of emotion to this dreary and cardboard film.

There is one sole compelling character and everyone else could easily be replaced by the million and one villains and protagonist who have been in plots similar to this. The one thing that this movie does differently is having a Black protagonist trying to get revenge on behalf of a Black victim. Not to the point of souring your opinion of Boseman, but definitely making you wonder, without him being cast as a famous figure, what would his career be like?
Overall Opinion: Negative Mixed Positive. Teresa Palmer is a very under rated actress, have seen her in 4 other movies and she plays her characters exceptionally well with her raw beauty and talent. I thought Bosman did a very good job with his character, he tried to do good for all that were lost because of his sister.

How does he know how to fight…. Are we supposed to just believe his anger is allowing him to beat up 4 people at the same time? I was confused as to why he lied in the beginning about himself to immigration control.

Anyways, great review and I agree with all you said. Also, with money comes attention and with his sister owing people, that would have led to more issues he was not there to deal with.

They salute him because he is a detective. Possibly one with the kind of rank that deserve respect. I figured with the way he interviewed and handled people he was some sort of cop.
