I was at the San Antonio Women of Joy conference this weekend. I had no idea who you were or what you were going to speak about but your books were the ones I was drawn too and bought for me and my daughter, who is going through a divorce. God is so good. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for sharing your heart at Women of Joy in Orlando last weekend. Thank you for allowing God to use you to change lives.

Thank you for encouraging me to live brave. Thank you for saying just what I needed to hear. I am and will continue to pray for you, especially that God will give you rest and strength to continue the good work He is doing through you. This site uses Akismet to reduce spam.

To watch them go out of sight. To keep a date night with dad. To make them sit around the table. To let her yes be yes and her no be no. To be delayed, rerouted and canceled with poise. To make them wait to take a bite. To take Christmas to people who have nothing. To miss a few things they do wrong. To put down the phone. To learn their unique love language. To occasionally be a supermom.

To turn their beds down at night. To ride a roller coaster. A family can fall apart, but if the mom is emotionally stable, they might just get through it. And truly, God deserves that too.

Things Kids Say: Why Do You Love Your Mom? Mother's Day

May 16, Curious Reader rated it liked it Shelves: Nice things for a mom to do. But trust me not all these things are what a kid wants their mom to do. For example one of the thing that a kid wants his mom to keep a date night with dad Because he never likes that his mom and dad goes anywhere without him. Anyway that's my opinion. Mar 10, Leslie rated it really liked it Shelves: Such great reminders of things I am trying to do for my kids and good ideas for things to start.

I wish I could have underlined things while reading this. Feb 25, Carol rated it really liked it. Recently I have really enjoyed books written by Christian authors from other religions. They are uplifting and this book was the same. Lots of good ideas not the overwhelming kind that some parenting books present about how to raise good, thoughtful kids who will can contribute to building a peaceful world.

52 Things Kids Need from a Mom: What Mothers Can Do to Make a Lifelong Difference

Sep 08, Sarah Bailey rated it really liked it Shelves: Like to pray with the door open, the idea of this is that even though the children will come in and use you as a human jungle gym keep on praying and let them know you are praying so that they have that modeled for them. Otherwise this book has lots of ideas like keeping a family blog, treat their friends like family, to miss a few things that they mess up, make a big deal out of God and more.

Sep 10, Molly rated it it was amazing. I'm not yet a mom, but when the time comes, I'd want something like this book nearby. The writing drew me in from the first chapter, and the structure is created perfectly for busy moms. The writing is honest, the suggestions doable, and the book's tone doesn't make you feel like you're the worst mom on earth and your children are doomed. The first chapter echoes my sentiments, and is aptly first and fo I'm not yet a mom, but when the time comes, I'd want something like this book nearby.

The first chapter echoes my sentiments, and is aptly first and foremost in a book like this: Nanay has done this since we were little and continues to do so , whether or not anyone was watching. She would kneel in prayer over our beds while we were out, praying for God's protection and guidance for us. I see her pray on her knees all over the house, any time of day. I think, as a result, I was more secure, knowing that someone loved me enough to constantly cover me in prayer. Every child should have such a mother. Sep 22, Codi rated it it was ok.

While this book is filled with good things, I just got bored. I didn't finish it. As a mom, I always need reminders for things I can improve on, but I guess reading them all at once in a book is not my best way of receiving them. I did like how there was a "disclaimer" about how we're all different and some of these things may not be what you want to do as a mom. Turning down my kids' beds and turning on a lamp for them every night before bed time- no thank you.

I will gladly tuck them i While this book is filled with good things, I just got bored. I will gladly tuck them in and give them kisses, but they can turn down their own darn bed. No need to be lazy. Good stuff, just not for me. Time to read some more fiction books and continue to be a mediocre if that mom. Oct 14, Janna rated it it was amazing.

I was looking forward to this book because as a mother of 7 wonderful kids I know that no matter how hard I try there is always more I can do. I do feel spread awful thin sometimes and know that I can't always give each of my kids individually what they need from me.

I love the way Angela lays this book out. She has 52 wonderful topics and ideas that give me as a parent something to shoot for. Some of them affirm me that I am doing something right. Some of them give me some great ideas to work o I was looking forward to this book because as a mother of 7 wonderful kids I know that no matter how hard I try there is always more I can do.

Some of them give me some great ideas to work on. None of them made me feel condemnation for not being perfect. This book is an excellent way to take one chapter a week and work on the little things that can make a big difference in your children's life. I re-read whenever I have time to remind myself of the little things! I love how the book is written.

Short little spurts of advice, never overwhelming, easy to read. Could grab a quick chapter on a commute or during a break better than a quick surf on social media. Not only does the author give you a background for each piece of advice, but she gives examples.
