The race and appearance of Jesus has been a topic of discussion since the days of early Christianity. There are no firsthand accounts of Jesus' physical appearance, although some authors have suggested that physical descriptions may have.

In one sense, it hardly matters what Jesus looked like. What truly counts is what He accomplished for us on the cross — in paying the price for our sins. However, it certainly goes to show that there is much to do with Christian belief that is influenced more by tradition, and even by the culture around us, than by what the Bible actually says. Many Bible truths are confronting.
They challenge our normal patterns of thought. However, God, in perfect wisdom, presents us with Truth — not to tickle our ears but to work for our ultimate good. What does the New Testament say about tithing, meaning giving a tenth of your income, to the church?

Can true Christians lose their salvation? Faith is a gift. Does enduring faith demand effort on our part? Does it serve the cause of Christ for Christians to use political influence to improve society? Is abundant health and wealth a mark of divine favour — even a reward from God? Is God keen to pour out material abundance on His people? Is the teaching about having a good self-image appropriate for Christians?
Does it agree with the Bible? Should Christians be the moral guardians of society? Is having a positive attitude an indication of vibrant faith? Are there Christians who are in some way superior to others?
