And that is the magic of this man's style of writing is that undeniable pull that can be created without you suspecting anything and before you know it you are taken away to several startling places both of this world and ones we may never want to see for ourselves first hand. Small grievances placed aside from the other reviews I read it is very much so worth looking into. Especially if you are a fan of this genre. And if you are a lover of spooky tales then you will be pleasantly surprised by this spine chilling litle book of quiet yet dark wonders.

With all that said dont be surprised if you start to think there may be a creepy looking gorgon under your stairs once this book gets a hold of your imagination Trust me dont ask just check it out for yourselves.

Alex Paman's Filipino Ghost Stories. Read it and find out a few new reasons why you should be afraid of the dark And what may be lurking in it's midst. Lots of great stories, some are kind of short, but I have a short attention span anyways so it wasn't really a problem for me.

I know lots of people that live in the Philippines, and reading this book reminded me of many of the stories that my friends have told me in the past. One person found this helpful. This book reads easily and has many stories. It isn't exactly scary, but offers many true life "sitings. The majority of the stories in this book are memoires, not short stories.

They were still enjoyable and I learned some things about Filipino culture. A real page turner, which gives me insight into the folk culture of the Filipino people. I am sure all will enjoy it from young to old! A very simple read but the stories are creepy and interesting. The only problem I have with this Kindle book is the formatting and spelling errors. First off, the titles are bold and black, but the paragraphs are a lighter shade of gray.

And there are frequent areas, usually mid sentence, there the words turn black and then after several words goes back to being gray.

This became very annoying while reading. At first, I thought my Kindle was broken, but soon verified that I only see it happening with this book. Next, there are numerous occurences where a word is segmented or concatenated. Initially the book looks professional, but the longer I read, the more I noticed how unpolished it looks.

It makes me feel like it's a beginners first attempted at self publishing. It would look times better if the author went through it and just made ALL of the text black, ran it through a spell checker and have someone proof read it to catch anything the spell checker missed. For example, the 2 valid words "avoid" and "ing" would not be caught through spell checking. Aside from the formatting, the book is good.

I like the incorporation of the numerous photos and illustrations, along with the numerous intersting stories. See all 12 reviews. Most recent customer reviews. Spooky book of supernatural stories, mostly anecdotal, from the Philippines, where as in most Asian countries, belief in ghosts, spirits and the paranormal is widespread. The Catholicism of the Philippines lends a unique twist to traditional Asian supernatural beliefs and legends.
