Yeah, I got mine a while back - but will shamelessly promote it for her since Linda is an awesome person! You are aspiring to be a bastard husband? Is this a training book? I picked this up one of the last times it was free on Amazon and downloaded it on my crappy iThingie. I rarely just sit down and read when I'm home. I wanted to like this book. The marketing-savvy Linda Lou used a provocative title to draw me in. And I thought, "Ooh, a book by a comedienne. This is going to be good! She is bright and articulate and funny, potty mouth aside.
And that meant the love story just sort of The title would make you think I wanted to like this book. The title would make you think so. So even as I was reading the first part of the book, in the back of my mind I was already writing a snazzy review, because truly, the book kept my interest as she sparred with her severely alcoholic "bastard husband. I was willing to be patient. BUT, one of the hard rules of romance writing is that you shouldn't go more than one chapter with the hero and heroine separated.
After she throws him out we get repeat write-ups of Linda Lou visiting New Age churches which start to sound like the same chapter over and over again , visiting family, looking for a job, finding a job, quitting a job, looking for a job, finding a job Is she going to get back to the story, ever?
I hate to give up on a book. I like to see how they end. But there are lots of good books to read, and once the hero exits and doesn't come back and doesn't come back, I find myself no longer wanting to pick up the book, because a romance without a hero is not a love story. It's a daily journal.

She calls herself "Linda Lou Vegas" and she's now a stand-up comedian along the Vegas strip. I began reading her blog and I thought she seemed very funny so I bought a copy of this book.
I really enjoyed it. I was seriously laughing out loud in many of the chapters. And I was shaking my head in other ones. It's one woman's memoir about learning to value herself and reinvent her life through a bad relationsh I found this book and this author through a mutual friend's blog I was reading regularly.
It's one woman's memoir about learning to value herself and reinvent her life through a bad relationship that she is in. Linda constantly pokes fun at herself - her bad hair, her obsession with Guiding Light and wondering why she's living with an alcoholic who has a gambling problem. I love her fearless honesty and how she somehow makes lemonade out of the lemons she's been dealt with in life. I would recommend this book to anyone and I have an autographed copy if any of my friends want to borrow it.

For the most part I thoroughly enjoyed the book but was left a little disappointed. In parts I felt I could really relate to Linda Lou having suffered a drunk husband myself but I found her attitude at times quite unattractive, she really does have a very high opinion of herself.. I would have felt more for her had she not thought herself so wonderful and point out endlessly how attractive she thought she was and how great she though For the most part I thoroughly enjoyed the book but was left a little disappointed.

Also I would have preferred it had there actually been a happy ending to the "Love Story" but I guess that's real life. Despite excruciating anxiety, I did well my first time on stage. Yes, the little cheerleader from Albany has come a long way. I will be forever grateful to my ex for leading me to my new life. Over the years, we've maintained a friendly connection living in separate hemispheres helps!
At the risk of sounding like the Pollyanna I can sometimes be, I believe everything really does happen for a reason. Most importantly, I've learned that in the end, your heart beats only for yourself. When you believe in yourself and are willing to put forth some effort, anything is possible!
