I appreciated seeing life through Fanny Crosby's "eyes", but I read the book on my kindle. The electronic version of this book is so filled with typographical errors that it was frustrating and distracting. It definitely diminished any enjoyment and appreciation that would have otherwise been had. Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. The life story of fanny is amazing and all that she accomplished. A lot of unneeded details that could have been trimmed. One person found this helpful. What a blessing to learn so much about this gifted woman whose writings continue to bless millions to this day.

She had a delightful sense of humor, loved Jesus with all her heart, and loved the souls of men enough to tell them of her wonderful Savior. My wife got this for me because I love old church hymns and really enjoy the stories behind them. While this wasn't exactly the book I expected it to be, it was a very pleasant read. My wife always tells me I'm an old soul and maybe that's why I like this book so much.

It's just a nice old lady reminiscing about her life.

I have read other books that are about hymns and the writers that tell a lot about the story of specific life circumstances that lead to the inspiration for hymns. This isn't that at all.

Again, it's just a happy old lady telling the stories of her life. It's written in a very old verbiage, so if that bothers you, be aware, but I found it endearing. One person found this helpful 2 people found this helpful. This is a classic. I enjoyed reading it out loud to my wife and we were once again quite moved by the life and poetry of Fanny J.
