Even now there are pirates around the coast of Africa, now they seem to strike only at ships and not towns. I'd be the scourge of the seven seas and feared throughout the world. I'd be the scourge of three or four seas. I'm just not that mean. I'd like to be a privateer, but not a pirate. I'd like to sail around and talk funny, but I don't want to hurt anyone. No way I'd want to be a pirate. I reckon Ann Bonny was not just 'hard' but also clever to have escaped.

Then comes a development that inevitably proves we're reading a masterful tale, and one told by a genius if an unsung one at the art. This could be a classic example of what makes for tales that seem to defy the ravages of time This book depicts the lives of pirates of the Golden Ages; It gives you the overview of almost everything you want to know about the Pirates of the Coast.

The myth behind Pirates of the Golden Ages is an important area of the study in history. I have learned a lot about Pirates in this book. These are really good pirate stories! I am using them as research for my work and also enjoying them on a more personal basis, reading them to my nephew who is obsessed with them: Not all of it is a an easy read or fun, but interesting at times. If you're a pirate freak it could be ok. I was happy to get this book because it has excerpts from the original and often first hand accounts of pirate stories.
