Their journey is gripping, raw and real I literally read each one in one setting cause there was no way I could put them down! His book is wit and humor at its finest, but you can't forget the sexual tension and suspense. Basically you can't go wrong with The Salvation gang! I absolutely love this series! It is a must read. My favorite book in this series is Defenseless, I love some Mark! LOL even though there is plenty of that in this book as well. Beloved and Beholden were sexy. I've read the first two books in this series and have now purchased the last three.

Corrine Michaels is now my favorite author. Beloved and Beholden were sexy, funny, and sad and I loved every minute of reading these books. They are the type of books that'll keep you up till all hours to finish each one. The only time I had to take a break was when I had to recharge the battery on my Kindle. Please keep writing and I promise to read all your books Corrine. One of the best series I have ever read. Each book couple throughout takes us on an emotional journey with their stories.

We have love, betrayal, discovery plot twists. Hot men sexy women and the writing of back it all up! Mark was my favorite he adored the ground Charlie walked I mean he was very open about his feelings and tried hard to make her see that they were great together Their interactions and arguments even when they were intimate were out of this world AnD a great Forplay! Now I liked Charlie but I didn't love her because she was constantly in denial with herself about Mark This is the CIA op?

This five-foot-four drop-dead gorgeous woman? No wonder she gets information. I'd sell my soul if she asked. These two were amazing together, I mean they argued hard and fucked even harder You've got me all turned out,and for some reason I can't say no to you. You need a man who will put up with your shit. Someone who can handle your need to control, and know you want to be out of control for once. If I don't keep pushing you away, I'm going to end up pushing myself o you. I could be your partner, but you're hell bent on reminding me that'll never happen.

So know this, when I'm an asshole or a dick to you It's because you make my blood boil to the point I'm going to lose it. And I never lose it. I really liked the ending and their little crazy family View all 16 comments. Defenseless reminded me how much I enjoy the sub-genre. Mark is a cocky, irritating but loveable smartass, and Charlie is stubborn, secretive, and feisty. Together they are oil and water, which makes for some delectable chemi 4.

Together they are oil and water, which makes for some delectable chemistry. The first couple chapters seem bogged down by the number of characters and how each player relates to each other. Natalie, Lee, Sparkles—I thought they were three separate characters, but no. Once I got over that initial hump, it was fairly smooth sailing. This book has a little bit of everything: Corrine Michaels cleverly ends each chapter on a mini-cliffhanger, daring the reader to put the book down.

Defenseless is a delightful standalone novel. Recommended for fans of: View all 17 comments. She draws you in with the brightness of her sun and then leaves you blind. And to think that I got an idea of what to expect with Mark, Corinne Michaels surprises her readers as she melts hearts as we are bewitch with his raw and charming personality. Hearts will definitely be defenseless as Mark Dixon etches his way into book boyfriend category.

From the moment that Mark met Charlie, he was bewitched by her presence and feisty personality. And so Mark and Charlies are reunited as they are thrust again to work together as they discover and expose who is behind in wanting to cause harm to Jackson, Aaron and Mark. Every part of me becomes liquefied, and I want nothing more than for him to take me in his arms. I see it all. Michaels turns up the heat as she seduces readers to the explosive chemistry of Charlie and Mark.

Together these two detonate a story filled with passion, lust, heat, sensuality, sex and steam that will have readers like myself begging, craving and wanting more of Mark and Charlie. He growls and grinds his cock against my leg. His hands are relentless holding my face as he controls the kiss. He demands this kiss. He possesses this kiss. All I can say is Mark will definitely have readers questioning whether him, Jackson or Liam will be your favorite hero. What I can attest is Mark will surly leave his mark as one of the most sexiest alpha hero that I have read.

I want him more than ever. So if you are ready to fall in love with a sexy hero, a sassy heroine, and one explosive story then I would definitely recommend you to read Defenseless. Review can also be found on Four Chicks Flipping Pages: My heart is still pounding! He made me laugh and swoon with the same sentence.

Mark is the total package! I totally fell in love with Charlie! This book is hot, mysterious, swoony and addictive! Seems a pattern to me that I sign up for blog tours for authors whose books I already own but not read. Jackson and Liam , imma comin for ya!! Friend got rescued, they each move on their own merry ways, they each have a mission to focus on, realized their individual mission has more connections so they decided to work together again. Along the way, feelings materialize.

I thought Corinne did really well in making me fall in love with him right from the first page. The story, I thought, was laid out quite nicely so the suspense built to a good climax. Then, I was just really engrossed in the story. With what Corinne did with Mark and his interactions with the other members of Cole Security and their women, I get the feeling I will totally enjoy her previous books… Whew!

I swear, if all of Corinne's past H are like him, definitely more excited to get to them! View all 8 comments. I went into this book blind and read the belonging series but didn't read the consolation series. So you meet Mark in the belonging series and his hilarious so I knew I would love this book. I really enjoyed the main characters their chemistry and banter was amazing! It had a fantastic suspenseful storyline and kept me listening all day. Charlie is s bad ass take no shit CIA agent and as soon as my boy Mark sees her, well he literally falls head over heels.

Mark was an ex navy seal and they two have very similar personalities maybe that's why they rev each other up so much. A great read and would definitely recommend it to anyone. It is a stand alone and you don't really need to read the other series but it gives you a better idea of what's going on I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review from the author. It does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Full Review on Brianna's Bookish Confessions.

If any of you make me choose between Twilight, Muffin and Dreamboat, I might cry. Like the previous 2, this is intertwined. This follows Mark and Charlie — both characters we meet in Consolation Duet. Mark before in Belonging Duet. I think the one above can give you something. I do recommend reading the other 2 duets first since they will make an appearance in this one. But you should meet Jackson and Liam first! Mark makes plenty of appearances! I really liked this book.

But despite his demeanour and as much as Mark would never admit it, he was deep in his own way. Being an ex-Navy SEAL he loved control, he was alpha, he was intelligent, but he also had a heart of gold. The plot does continue on throughout and the characters also appear in other books, so for a better understanding and hell, all the books have been great reads I would recommend going that way forward. Charlie is in the CIA, she is one ballsy woman and has a spitfire personality to match.

Her father was also high up in the CIA so she has been born into the business and takes it extremely seriously. Charlie was feisty as hell, tough as old boots, extremely dedicated and was one kick-ass woman, she was deadly. The banter between these two was hilarious and Mark had really met his match. While there are criminals to catch Charlie and Mark try to keep their libidos in check but resistance is futile but it was fun to watch them try.

With danger lurking all around them would these two even survive to see where their relationship could go? This book was intense at times and as ever Corinne Michaels really delivered on character connection.

Emotions running high gave you that heart stopping fear at times as well as making you smile from ear to ear. The witty banter between Mark and Charlie has you laughing out loud so all that emotion, suspense and intrigue is perfectly balanced with some incredible dialogue. It is the relationship between Mark and Charlie that really cements them as great characters, one minute you are laughing your ass off and the next you are swooning, these two really endear themselves to you and you cannot help but champion them along.

Another great addition to one highly addictive series. You have to love the guys and girls at Cole Security. Nov 08, Amy rated it really liked it Shelves: She draws you in with the brightness of her sun and then leaves you fucking blind. Defenseless was so unexpected and has such a different feel from the other books involving these characters. Mark is a man on a mission, wanting to get answers for what happened to Aaron and why things keep happening that sh 4 Twilight Stars!!

Charlie has intrigued him since the moment she helped rescue Aaron. The two of them share an attraction, an explosive connection. They are defenseless against the way they feel about each other. Without going into too much detail, I can tell you that this book will answer a lot of questions. You will get to see how the rescue mission happened and how all the dots will align. Yes, there is tons of delicious, sexy moments. Mark and Charlie do not disappoint. This book definitely takes you on one thrilling ride. Defenseless was a great addition to the Salvation Series, but can be read as a stand-alone.

I loved getting to spend time with all my old friends from the previous books and seeing how their lives have continued to go forward, has left me with a big smile on my face! Defenseless was a fantastic read. Under Mark's silliness and quick wit hides a dominating alpha that will blow your mind. Meeting Charlie has brought perception to his life, he sees a future with her and he isn't afraid to pursue her.

Charlie is a sassy, confident, kick ass woman who's quick to put Mark in his place and give him her two cents. But in the world of spies and NAVY seals things can get rocky and putting your emotions on the line becomes a huge risk. Their chemistry is off the charts hot and sexy. I just loved watching these two banter back and forth. It literally brought me joy, but what I loved most was watching Mark fight for Charlie in those moments where she struggled with her feelings. He made her feel alive, after enduring a major loss and that alone won my heart. Defenseless is filled with suspense, emotion, and intrigue.

Tons of funny times and so, so good!! Secrets are revealed and Corinne will make sure to leave you hanging on the edge of your seat once again. Jun 14, Syndi rated it liked it. Move over Muffin, Twilight has officially taken your place as one of my all-time favorite male characters! I was so excited when I found out we were going to get Mark's book. He's hot, arrogant yet sweet and has such a sense of humor. I laughed out loud several times at the outrageous things that came out of his mouth.

Mark meets Charlie, a badass hero Move over Muffin, Twilight has officially taken your place as one of my all-time favorite male characters! Mark meets Charlie, a badass heroine who works for the CIA. She's strong, powerful and highly skilled. Charlie and Mark are both used to being in charge and they found themselves constantly going to battle with each other for control in every situation. Their chemistry was insane and explosive. The banter was fantastic. The sex was off the charts hot!!

Defenseless had an element of suspense that I enjoyed reading. It was an added bonus to the story and I couldn't read it fast enough. This book can easily be read as a standalone, but if you haven't read the other books in this series you're really missing out. I can't wait to see what Corinne Michaels writes next! An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review. Right now I am completely processing this book Defenseless left me breathless I know that we have all been patiently waiting for Defenseless.

I will tell you all, it is so worth the wait! Corinne outdid herself with this book. I have read all of Corinne's book. I feel like this one might be her best book thus far. Defenseless pulls everything together. All the questions you had are answered. Sorry, that is all the details that I am going to say Defenseless is the story of Mark Dixon aka Twilight, shimmer boy, six-foot-one man-child, shiny vampire boy and Charisma Erickson aka Charlie, Agent Awesome.

Charlie is a CIA agent on a mission to avenge her father's death. Mark works for Cole Security Forces. I don't have a moment to take the sight. No more than a breath passes before she raises the nine and shoots him in the head. This woman is going to be mine. She turns her head to face me and lifts her lips. The words that come from her mouth go straight to my groin.

It had me smiling the whole way through. The thing I like the most about their chemistry was the push and pull that each of them had with each other. Charlie is a hard headed woman that lives her life her own way. Mark is a dominate man that would lay his life down for the people he loves. I could not get enough of Mark and how he demanded Charlie to fall in love with him over time.

Charlie never had a chance. Mark was her forever. And the Lord said that He would destroy everything which was upon the earth, both men and cattle, and beasts, and fowls of the air, and that which moveth on the earth. The tenses must be altered from past to future. The reference is to the Day of Atonement which takes place on the 10th of the 7th month. And He commanded Noah to make him an ark, that he might save himself from the waters of the flood. And Noah made the ark in all respects as He commanded him, in the twenty-seventh jubilee.

And he entered in the sixth year thereof, in the second month, on. And the flood-gates began to pour down water from the heaven forty days and forty nights, And the fountains of the deep also sent up waters, until the whole world was full of water. And the water prevailed on the face of the earth five months-one hundred and fifty days. And on the new moon in the fourth month the fountains of the great deep were closed and the flood-gates of heaven were restrained; and on the new moon of the seventh month all the mouths of the abysses of the earth were opened, and the water began to descend into the deep.

And on the new moon of the tenth month the tops of the mountains were seen, and on the new moon of the first month the earth became visible. And on the twenty-seventh thereof he opened the ark, and sent forth from it beasts, and cattle, and birds, and every moving thing. Note the recurrence of the number seven in these connexions. Lubar is mentioned again in vii. And on the new moon of the third month he went forth from the ark, and built an altar on that mountain.

And he placed the fat thereof on the altar, and he took an ox, and a goat, and a sheep and kids, and salt, and a turtle-dove, and the young of a dove, and placed a burnt sacrifice on the altar, and poured thereon an offering mingled with oil, and sprinkled wine and strewed frankincense over everything, and caused a goodly savour to arise, acceptable before the Lord.

And behold I have given unto you all beasts, and all winged things, and everything that moveth on the earth, and the fish in the waters, and all things for food; as the green herbs, I have given you all things to eat. But flesh, with the life thereof, with the blood, ye shall not eat; for the life of all flesh is in the blood, lest your blood of your lives be required.

At the hand of every man, at the hand of every beast , shall I require the blood of man. And you, increase ye, and multiply on the earth. And Noah and his sons swore that they would not eat. And this testimony is written concerning you that you should observe it continually, so that you should not eat on any day any blood of beasts or birds or cattle during all the days of the earth, and the man who eateth the blood of beast or of cattle or of birds during all the days of the earth, he and his seed shall be rooted out of the land.

And do thou command the children of Israel to eat no blood, so that their names and their seed may be before the Lord our God continually. And for this law there is no limit of days, for it is for ever. He set His bow in the cloud for a sign of the eternal covenant that there should not again be a flood on the earth to destroy it all the days of the earth. For this reason it is ordained and written on the heavenly tables, that they should celebrate the feast. And this whole festival was celebrated in heaven from the day of creation till the days of Noah-twenty-six jubilees and five weeks of years: But Abraham observed it, and Isaac and Jacob and his children observed it up to thy days, and in thy days the children of Israel forgot it until ye celebrated it anew on this mountain.

And do thou command the children of Israel to observe this festival in all their generations for a commandment unto them: For it is the feast of weeks and the feast of first-fruits: And on the new moon of the first month, and on the new moon of the fourth.

translated by R. H. Charles

And Noah ordained them for himself as feasts for the generations for ever, so that they have become thereby a memorial unto him. And on the new moon of the first month he was bidden to make for himself an ark, and on that day the earth became dry and he opened the ark and saw the earth. And on the new moon of the fourth month the mouths of the depths of the abysses beneath were closed.

And on the new moon of the seventh month all the mouths of the abysses of the earth were opened, and the waters began to descend into them. And on the new moon of the tenth month the tops of the mountains were seen, and Noah was glad. And on this account he ordained them for himself as feasts for a memorial for ever, and thus are they ordained. And they placed them on the heavenly tables, each had thirteen weeks; from one to another passed their memorial, from the first to the second, and from the second to the third, and from the third to the fourth.

And all the days of the commandment will be two and fifty weeks of days, and these will make the entire year complete. Thus it is engraven and ordained on the heavenly tables. And command thou the children of Israel that they observe the years according to this reckoning-three hundred and sixty-four days, and these will constitute a complete year, and they will not disturb its time from its days and from its feasts; for everything will fall out in them according to their testimony, and they will not leave out any day nor disturb any feasts.

And all the children of Israel will forget, and will not find the path of the years, and will forget the new moons, and seasons, and sabbaths, and they will go wrong as to all the order of the years. For I know and from henceforth shall I declare it unto thee, and it is not of my own devising; for the book lieth written before me, and on the heavenly tables the division of days is ordained, lest they forget the feasts of the covenant and walk according to the feasts of the Gentiles after their error and after their ignorance.

For there will be those who will assuredly make observations of the moon—now it disturbeth the seasons and cometh in from year to year ten days too soon. For this reason the years will come upon them when they will disturb the order ,. The mountain is Lubar. Later Judaism associated it with the giving of the Law on Sinai. It was celebrated, according to our Book, on the 15th day of the 3rd month. Consequently, Pentecost would always fall on the same day of the week, Sunday. This accords with the Sadducean view. Nisan 14 would always fall on a Sabbath, Nisan 22 when the wave sheaf was to be offered on a Sunday, and the Feast of Weeks, Sivan 15, on a Sunday.

There is some reason to suppose that this conception of a solar year of days has a dogmatic basis. Our author wages a polemic against the use of the moon for determining the seasons and feasts. But a lunar year was accepted by the Pharisees. And he made wine therefrom and put it. And he celebrated with joy the day of this feast, and he made a burnt sacrifice unto the Lord, one young ox and one ram, and seven sheep, each a year old, and a kid of the goats, that he might make atonement thereby for himself and his sons.

And he prepared the kid first, and placed some of its blood on the flesh that was on the altar which he had made, and all the. And he placed all their offerings mingled with oil upon it, and afterwards he sprinkled wine on the fire which he had previously made on the altar, and he placed incense on the altar and caused a sweet savour to ascend acceptable before the Lord his God.

And he rejoiced and drank of this wine, he and his children with joy. And it was evening, and he went into his tent, and being drunken he lay down and slept, and was uncovered in his tent as he slept. And Ham saw Noah his father naked, and went forth and told his two brethren without. And Shem took his garment and arose, he and Japheth, and they placed the garment on their shoulders and went backward and covered the shame of their father, and their faces were backward.

And Noah awoke from his sleep and knew all that his younger son had done unto him, and he cursed his son and said: And he blessed Shem, and said: God shall enlarge Japheth, and God shall dwell in the dwelling of Shem, and Canaan shall be his servant. And Ham knew that his father had cursed his younger son, and he was displeased that he had cursed his son, and he parted from his father, he and his sons with him, Cush and Mizraim and Put and Canaan.

And Shem dwelt with his father Noah, and he built a city close to his father on the mountain, and he too called its name. And these are the sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad—this son was born two years after the flood—and Lud, and Aram. The sons of Japheth: And after this they sinned against the beasts and birds, and all that moveth and walketh on the earth: For I see, and behold the demons have begun their seductions against you and against your children, and now I fear on your behalf, that after my death ye will shed the blood of men upon the earth, and that ye, too, will be destroyed from the face of the earth.

And there will not be left any man that eateth blood. Or that sheddeth the blood of man on the earth, Nor will there be left to him any seed or descendants living under heaven; For into Sheol will they go, And into the place of condemnation will they descend. And ye shall not be like him who eateth with blood, but guard yourselves that none may eat blood before you: And suffer not the soul to be eaten with the flesh, that your blood, which is your life, may not be required at the hand of any flesh that sheddeth it on the earth.

And now, my children, hearken: And behold, ye will go and build for yourselves cities, and plant in them all the plants that are upon the earth, and moreover all fruit-bearing trees. For three years the fruit of everything that is eaten will not be gathered: For thus did Enoch, the father of your father command Methuselah, his son, and Methuselah his son Lamech, and Lamech commanded me all the things which his fathers commanded him.

And I also will give you commandment, my sons, as Enoch commanded his son in the first jubilees: According to Maimonides Kings , 89 Adam received six commandments against 1 idolatry; 2 blasphemy; 3 murder; 4 incest; 5 stealing; 6 perverting justice. These were enjoined by Noah, who added a seventh, prohibiting the eating of flesh with blood. Later Judaism directed that the rest of the fruit should be eaten by the owners within the walls of Jerusalem. And the son grew, and his father taught. And he found a writing which former generations had carved on the rock, and he read what was thereon, and he transcribed it and sinned owing to it; for it contained the teaching of the Watchers in accordance with which they used to observe the omens of the sun and moon and stars in all the signs of heaven.

And he wrote it down and said nothing regarding it; for he was afraid to speak to Noah about it lest he should be angry with him on account of it. And in the thirtieth jubilee, in the second week, in the. And she bare him a son in the fifth year thereof, and he called his name Eber: And in the sixth. And it came to pass in the beginning of the thirty-third jubilee that they divided. And he called his sons, and they drew nigh to him, they and their children, and he divided the earth into the lots, which his three sons were to take in possession, and they reached forth their hands, and took the writing out of the bosom of Noah, their father.

This portion came forth by lot for Shem and his sons, that they should possess it for ever unto his generations for evermore. And Noah rejoiced that this portion came forth for Shem and for his sons, and he remembered all that he had spoken with his mouth in prophecy; for he had said:. And he knew that the Garden of Eden is the holy of holies, and the dwelling of the Lord, and Mount Sinai the centre of the desert, and Mount Zion—the centre of the navel of the earth: And he blessed the God of gods, who had put the word of the Lord into his mouth, and the Lord for evermore.

And he knew that a blessed portion. And this is the land which came forth for Ham as the portion which he was to occupy for ever for himself and his sons unto their. But it is cold, and the land of Ham is hot, and the land of Shem is neither hot nor cold, but it is of blended cold and heat. It also occurs in the genealogy in Luke iii.

And for Asshur came forth the second portion, all the land of Asshur and Nineveh and Shinar and to the border of India, and it ascendeth and skirteth the river. And Japheth also divided the land of his inheritance amongst his sons. And thus the sons of Noah divided unto their sons in the presence of Noah their father, and he bound them all by an oath, imprecating a curse on every one that sought to seize the portion which had not fallen to him by his lot.

And he prayed before the Lord his God, and said:. For Thy grace hath been great towards me, And great hath been Thy mercy to my soul; Let Thy grace be lift up upon my sons, And let not wicked spirits rule over them Lest they should destroy them from the earth. But do Thou bless me and my sons, that we may increase and multiply and replenish the earth. And Thou knowest how Thy Watchers, the fathers of these spirits, acted in my day: And let them not rule over the spirits of the living; for Thou alone canst exercise dominion over them.

And let them not have power over the sons of the righteous from henceforth and for evermore. And the Lord our God bade us to bind all. And we did according to all His words: And we explained to Noah all the medicines of their diseases, together with their seductions, how he might heal them with herbs of the earth.

And Noah wrote down all things in a book as we instructed him concerning every kind of medicine. And he gave all that he had written to Shem, his eldest son; for he loved him exceedingly above all his sons. Nine hundred and fifty years he completed in his life, nineteen jubilees and two. And in his life on earth he excelled the children of men save Enoch because of the righteousness, wherein he was perfect. The Hebrew original of and of this section is extant. And Ham and his sons went into the land which he was to occupy, which he acquired as his portion in the land of the south. And Ham, his father, and Cush and Mizraim, his brothers, said unto him: Dwell not in the dwelling of Shem; for to Shem and to his sons did it come by their lot.

And for this reason that land is named Canaan. And Japheth and his sons went towards the sea and dwelt in the land of their portion, and Madai saw the land of the sea and it did not please him, and he begged a portion from Elam and Asshur and Arpachshad,. And he called his dwelling-place, and the dwelling-place of his sons, Media, after the name of their father Madai. Africa his true inheritance. And in the seventh year of this week she bare him a son, and he called his name Abram, by the name of the father of his mother; for he had died before his daughter had conceived a son.

And the child began to understand the errors of the earth that all went astray after graven images and after uncleanness, and his father taught him. And he began to pray to the Creator of all things that He might save him from the errors of the children of men, and that his portion should not fall into error after uncleanness and vileness.

And the seed time came for the sowing of seed upon the land, and they all went forth together to protect their seed against the ravens, and Abram went forth with those that went, and the child was a lad of fourteen years. And he caused the clouds of ravens to turn back that day seventy times, and of all the ravens throughout all the land where Abram was there settled there not so much as one.

And all who were with him throughout all the land saw him cry out, and all the ravens turn back, and his name became great in all the land of the Chaldees. And there came to him this year all those that wished to sow, and he went with them until the time of sowing ceased: And in the first year of the fifth week Abram taught.

And after this manner they made vessels above the ground on all the frames of the ploughs, and they sowed and tilled all the land, according as Abram commanded them, and they no longer feared the birds.

One way of overcoming it was to identify Melchizedek with Shem. And He said unto him: And He brought him forth abroad, and said unto him: And he looked toward heaven, and beheld the stars.

Our text reckons the period from the birth of Isaac when Abraham was years old. Isaac was born when Abraham was years old Gen. And Sarai advised her husband Abram, and said unto him: And he went in unto her, and she conceived and bare him a son, and he called his name Ishmael, in the fifth year of this week; and this was the eighty-sixth year in the life of Abram.

For this reason it is ordained on the heavenly tables concerning Israel, that they shall celebrate the feast of tabernacles seven days with joy, in the seventh month, acceptable before the Lord—a statute for ever throughout their generations every year.
