She is a strong female protagonist, and that is to be commended. She has to make some tough and thought-provoking decisions during the course of the book, and then deal with the consequences of those. The plot came together very nicely in this one, and I can't wait to see how this series keeps evolving. I highly recommend this book, and this entire series if you have not read it before! While each book could be taken alone, there is a plot that started in the first book and continued all the way to this one. Sadria is a well balanced character, neither too good or too bad, just a human being, with flaws and merits. She wants to protect the city of Tyr but finds it hard to do, as she finds out more and more about the Dragon of Athas and more about her own magic.

Good inspiration source if you are a DM. Linear as the rest of the series. The ending is a bit quick, really, but in this case it still felt right. I really enjoy this pentad so far. Dark Sun is a really great world to make stories from. I was told by a friend with similar tastes in books that this is a good series. I read the first two books, and was underwhelmed. Denning has great difficulty developing his characters, and plots. While the books are extremely imaginative, and may work well as a movie, they are terrible in book format.
The number of plot holes you have to ignore, and assumptions you have to make is ridiculous. To read it is to slog through a desert of boredom.

I was hoping that this last book would be better than the first two. It is, just barely. This is a nice enough book, and of course Dark Sun is great. This is, however, a very poor edition: It really destroys the mood at many times. I consider it to be a problem of Wizards of the Coast, trying to squeeze even more money from TSR's stuff, without paying any respect to the material.

When compared to the other books in the prism pentad series it finishes in the top. It has many intriguing sci fantasy characteristics that make this book a pleasure to read. It is a straightforward and well composed novel with pleanty of excitement and cool plot twists.
If you like dungeons and dragons or liked the first to books in the series you have got to check this one out. Don't read the Amber Enchantress without at least reading the first book in the series or you won't be able to make heads or tales of it. This is a fun novel thats hard to put down.
