This sets them on fire and she seems a bit surprised by the reaction, indicating she doesn't know much about lands other than the Fire Kingdom. At the end of the same episode, she shows that she likes Finn, but thinks that they can't be together because they are opposite elementals, calling Finn "a water elemental" because of the tear that she felt from him. In "Burning Low," she seems to be calmer and able to handle a part of her flame being doused. This is illustrated when Finn jumps into the water while his foot is on fire, but she doesn't react. She is physically unstable.
This reaction was started when Finn kissed her in "Burning Low," but the crisis was averted. She can use her fingers to unleash small blasts of fire and throw disks of fire as seen in " Ignition Point. She can emit a continuous flamethrower from her hands, but the length of time she can sustain it is debatable.
She has a Scatter Fire ability, in which she emits four, manipulatible, bolts of fire.
She can also make a Flame Sword, in which she concentrates an isolated flame, extending from her arm, that is intense enough to glow blue. Immediately following that, she used a Dash ability that sent massive pieces of shrapnel from a steel door which she had just cleaved into four pieces in all directions, as seen in "Vault of Bones. She does not leave a fire trail when she walks now, and she says she is a "42" out of at sending very weak, controlled bolts of fire. This indicates that she has gained considerable control over her abilities since "Burning Low," as seen in "Vault of Bones.
She has full manipulation of her body, morphing it into asymmetrical flames at will. Her father also has this ability, and it may be the norm among fire elementals. She can use her fingers to unleash small blasts of fire and throw disks of fire as seen in "Ignition Point. In " Orange Flame " Flame Princess connected with her roots and accepted who she was. She hasn't displayed her blue flame powers, but, as said by the Orange Flame God, it mostly acts for boosting her current abilities.
In " Ignition Point " Flame Princess admits to hating that her father locked her away in the lantern for all these years and thus refuses to go back to Fire Kingdom after she finally leaves it behind when meeting Finn. He slightly could believe his daughter could gain a "good" alignment if she hung around people like Finn, but he doesn't know if it could work due to Flame Princess' fiery nature.
He later attempts to send subliminal messages to her while she sleeps by saying "evil," but it quickly stops when Flame Princess wakes up and sees this, leaving her shocked. He does so again at the start of " Vault of Bones " but stops upon realizing that she's not alone, causing Finn to look for a way to counteract his influence. In " Orange Flame ," it is told that he is the one who killed her mother even though that Flame Princess already knew. So he had one of his servants take to the woods for her to perish. However, the servant took pity on her and gave her to a woodsman, but she wandered around and proceeded to burn the woodsman house and the surrounding forest.
She was found by Princess Bubblegum and brought back to her father, where the Princess demanded he control her.

So he lock her in a oil lamp-like cage. When Tulta was still alive she was very good and suportive of Flame Princess, untill Tulta was killed. Than Flame Princess' life was turned around and mostly because she wittneced the killing of her mother. But in the episode " The Trip to Fire Kingdom ," Finn, Jake, and Flame Princess go and discover the secrets about Fire Kingdom, the group saw Tulta's spirit and told Flame Princess to continue to be a good person and she will always be with Flame Princess when she needs her help.
But they had no really good relationship. Flame Princess never thought of her as her mother only a friend. Jake enters the Fire Kingdom to court Flame Princess on behalf of Finn, who is feeling heartbroken after having been pushed away by his previous love interest, Princess Bubblegum. In "Ignition Point," they interact much more and they seem to be comfortable with each other; it was Jake who suggested going to the Fire Kingdom to get her the scented candles.
Jake seems glad to see Finn happy with Flame Princess, as he was the one to seek her after Finn was rejected by Princess Bubblegum. Jake also keeps his distance when Finn and Flame Princess are together, as shown in "Burning Low" when Finn asks Jake if he wants to check out Flame Princess' new house and he politely refuses and tells them to go ahead.
Also in "Vault of Bones," while Flame Princess and Finn are playing cards, Jake offers them chamomile tea to show his support of their relationship. She begins by heading for Goblin Kingdom to set it and its citizens on fire. Finn and Jake attempt to stop her with Robo suits made by Neptr , but Finn only attempts to talk her out of it rather than put out her fires.

When Finn realizes he cannot make her understand his feelings, he tears a hole in his robo suit and cries wishing he could "just like a girl. She becomes convinced that he is a " Water Elemental ," saying that all he does is cry and cry all the time. She comes to the conclusion that they are opposite elementals and that even if they like each other, they would hurt each other.
However, Finn suggests that they try to make it work and that he can take it. She seems happy that he would want to defy nature for her, and both lean in to hug one another. As they hug, Finn gets burned and pushes her away. She looks at him appearing unsure, and then leaves saying, "Bye, Finn. In " King Worm ," Flame Princess is feeding Finn whom she calls "honey" soup; first lovingly, then angrily when he hesitates he was confused, having been with Princess Bubblegum as her king and husband seconds earlier.
However, Finn soon discovers that he is in a dream and she is not the real Flame Princess. While there, Finn finds out that Flame Princess is evil, but he seems pleased to know that she could possibly be turned to good. In " Reign of Gunters ," Finn takes the advice of a dating book called Mind Games and tries to act more mysterious. He teaches her properly how to dungeon crawl, but she finds his methods boring due to her impatient and destructive personality and tells him that she is not having fun.
After Finn allows her to do things her own way, she proceeds to burn everything down with her elemental powers. When a Giant Goo Skull captures Finn, she rescues him by intimidating it and calls him her boyfriend for the first time. At first, Finn thought he was going to be burned alive because of how Flame Princess approached the Goo Skull, but after he is rescued, Flame Princess says she would never hurt her boyfriend. At the end of the episode, Flame Princess thanks Finn for taking her to the dungeon and suggests that they go to another dungeon sometime.
In " Jake Suit ," she invites Finn to her house to meet her less-evil family members. She totally does not even mind that he makes a fool of himself once she finds out it was for a bet with Jake. She believes that Finn will win and cheers him on, giving him the support he needs to survive the final stretch of Jake's gauntlet. After Flame Princess beats up Ice King for insulting her, Finn starts to have weird dreams with the Cosmic Owl in it, but keeps waking up before he can finish the dream. Finn tries to get Flame Princess and Ice King fight by writing insulting messages about them and claiming the other sent it.
This, however, leads to Finn attempting to apologize and to continue their relationship, but to no avail as Flame Princess leaves saying " I need some time alone. In " Too Old ," it is revealed the couple had broken up, and so Finn makes one last attempt at Princess Bubblegum. It fails as usual, and he tells Jake he has to "patch things up with Flame Princess," so it is unknown if they get back together or not, as Jake ominously states Flame Princess could have already replaced Finn with a new boyfriend. She later befriends Cinnamon Bun when Princess Bubblegum leaves her unattended in the middle of a test and tells him that sometimes friends are "hard to understand" and that they are "just playing mind games.
When Finn tries to apologize to her, she accepts his apology. He asks her if they are still going out. She says no but they can still be friends and that he can come by anytime as long as he is completely honest with her. Despite apprising Finn specifically that they are not getting back together and that they are only meeting so that he can help her reclaim her kingdom, Finn tried to impress the princess with his improved swordsmanship and showed-off impulsively by charging into the Fire Kingdom, which annoyed Flame Princess.
In the dungeon, Finn revealed that he thinks that Flame Princess still has feelings for him, to which she protests. Finn continues to admit to others his love for her in " Love Games " and " The Pit. Princess that Finn no longer talks to Flame Princess, indicating he no longer has feelings for her and instead harbors contempt although in "The Mountain" when he sees her, she "kinda messed Finn up" , possibly since he thinks Flame Princess and Cinnamon Bun are dating. It is likely that Finn continues to harbor genuine romantic affection for Flame Princess, as seen in The Comet.
When the Purple Comet offers Finn a new mode of existence, she explains the crisis caused by the weight of this decision. She goes on to mention the various aspects of his human life he would be free from, the first is love, which is signified with a modern appearance of Flame Princess. This isn't to say that his feelings might not have changed at all, or that they are reciprocated by Flame Princess, but they likely still exist despite the conflict caused in himself by her rejection.
Flame Princess was excited to see him and invited him in for lunch. Finn apologized more sincerley this time saying "I said I was sorry but I didn't fully understand what I had done wrong. After this the two have fun as friends and are now seen casually together without any drama. In the series " Happy Warrior " Finn was concerned that the supposedly dragon in fact, the image of the Fire Princess had eaten it, but after a while, succumbing to anger, he himself became a Fire Elemental.
Lumpy Space Princess thinks that they have a chance to come together again. Princess Bubblegum Though not interacting with each other, Princess Bubblegum reveals to Jake in " Burning Low " that Flame Princess is unaware that she is the one who had the Flame King lock up his daughter in the lantern due to her physical instability. Princess Bubblegum knows, in great detail, about Flame Princess's elemental matrix, what "extreme romance" would do to it, and how to stop the resulting reaction.
In " All the Little People ," Princess Bubblegum and Flame Princess, however, in toys forms, had their first interaction with each other by fighting over mini Finn. This is not likely to happen between them in reality as Princess Bubblegum does not hold any feelings for Finn, as well as Flame Princess, after their break-up.
When asked about her relationship with Bubblegum, she said that it was unclear whether they had formed a friendship. After Cinnamon Bun asks Flame Princess why Princess Bubblegum put her into "baby jail," saying that this was "a weird friend thing," she finally realizes that it was Princess Bubblegum's idea to lock her in a lantern while she was a baby.
It is unknown if she holds any actual bitterness towards Princess Bubblegum towards this.
In " The Red Throne ," she states that she does not trust her, but out of an unknown reason. Flame Princess, who was unaware that Princess Bubblegum was the threat to the kingdom, seeks help from her but disregards Bubblegum's attempts to act as her friend in order to gain Flame Princess' trust and apprised her furiously that she had only asked her help to save her kingdom, not because she trusts her.
As Bubblegum's plan works out, she persuaded Flame Princess to let her enter the room which contains the ancient relics of the Fire Kingdom and steals the thermic control units of the Sleeping Fire Giants while Flame Princess was singing A Kingdom from a Spark. When caught stealing the units, Princess Bubblegum immediately denied it and lied to her that one of the units had fallen out and that she was just putting it back.
Unfortunately for her, she accidentally ripped her bag, where the stolen units were placed, causing Flame Princess to become furious and thus starting a fight between the princesses. Bubblegum then decides to use Flame Princess' attacks to destroy the Giants and taunts her by calling her a "ding-dong" who does not deserve her trust.

However, Flame Princess managed to catch Bubblegum off-guard and defeated her. She pointed out that Princess Bubblegum had been exerting authority she does not possess and making decisions for its citizens that is not hers to make and threatened to kill Bubblegum after her defeat. Princess Bubblegum then counter-attacks by sending a sphere that releases electricity into the smoke from the damaged statues, creating rain and thus weakening Flame Princess, preventing her from killing her.
While trying to recover from the battle, Princess Bubblegum decided to come clean and explained that she was trying to get near Flame Princess' weapons stockpile to protect her kingdom, as well as revealing that she had put a video camera to spy on Flame Princess. Flame Princess was aggravated to hear this and accused Bubblegum of being a bad person.
Princess Bubblegum regrets her actions and tells her that she is not an all bad person and tried to prove it by leaving one of the Fire Kingdom's Fire Golems active. The two amend and Flame Princess openly answers her question about what her first name was; Phoebe. Princess Bubblegum then calls Ice King off from freezing the core, reverting the Fire Kingdom back to its normal state. Before there had been any direct contact between Flame Princess and the Ice King, he seems to have known her because he mentions Flame Princess in " I Remember You ," probably from hearing about her from Finn and Jake.
Flame Princess is one of the princesses that the Ice King calls "okay. She punches him in the stomach, slaps him several times, and kicks him back into the Ice Kingdom. Later in the episode, Finn forges a letter to make the two fight again. Enraged, Flame Princess defeats him in the final battle and destroys the Ice Kingdom. She finally stops when Finn admits that he wrote the letter, knowing that the Ice King is innocent. It is unknown whether how Flame Princess felt for the Ice King. Flame Princess seems to have known Don John before the events of " The Red Throne ," calling out his name when he breaks in.
He helps Flame King to reclaim his throne and secretly poisons her, causing her to lose some of her powers. She and Finn are later thrown into the Fire Kingdom dungeon, after Finn breaks into the kingdom and pulls Flame Princess in. There, Don John tells her that she will be his and reveals that he wants to marry her. Flame Princess eventually turns him down and tells him that she will never marry him because she does not have feelings for him, and that forcing her to marry him is gross.
