Hoping to learn more as I go along. Years ago I began writing letters to God and receiving answers from God through journaling. This process helped me learn to hear and recognize the voice of God without the aid of writing.

Well, when enough people made comments like that, I began to fear I had fallen into heresy or something so I backed away from the practice. That sent me on the slippery slope of backsliding and the voice of God became a distant memory. I no longer had access to the God who loved me, encouraged me, and guided me through the difficulties of life.
I was reluctant at first because so many people had shamed me into forsaking the practice, but once I delved into the pages of the text, I found myself at home once again. As I began to converse with God through two-way journaling, I felt my spirit revive. Through this affirmation, I was able to wash away the shame I felt from those who scolded me about hearing from God.
The book also gives clear explanations of how hearing from God is not a New Age phenomenon, but is rooted in Scripture and all through history until rationalism came to reign supreme over supernatural interventions. I used to Journal years ago, but I thought that it was way to simple, this couldn't be God. So I stopped journaling. And also God gave me visions and dreams, I didn't know what to do with them, I just blew them off. After reading this book and realizing God has been trying to speak to me for years and years, I was shocked.
I did a lot of crying and asking for forgiveness; I simply just didn't know that these things were from God - trying to tell me something.

Sometimes God speaks to you directly - point blank. Other times through these symbols and imagery. One of the best parts is that God will interpret them as well - if you ask Him. Everything in the kingdom of Grace is by permission. God treats us with such tenderness. The book is a total eye opening, humbling experience, you will have many I purchased this book a couple years ago because I wanted to have dialog with God. I had gotten into the habit of praying, and I figured that since God could hear me, I should begin to figure out how to hear God. Since reading this book, I can now have conversations with God at anytime.
I learned to discern the difference between my thoughts and God's Divine words that he speaks to me. I have been involved in church and im earnestly seeking to take Gods path in every area of my life. I left behind the party scene, friends who didn't care about wisdom. Although I'm far from where I was, I still struggle with letting go of my old lifestyle to embrace Gods voice and guidance in each season of my life.
With this being said I can only speak good things about this book. This book presents some reminders for the well-seasoned believer, and some new insight as well. I would recommend this book to those seeking a deeper walk, and more guidance and wisdom.
I was looking for something basic and direct as I return to my faith and am looking for more meaning and a greater connection. Hearing God's voice is amazing, wonderful, and should be an active part of our everyday existence. Goll takes time in this amazing book to walk us through the reasons and the practicality of listening and obeying God's voice. Written in an easy to read format, Goll uses stories and analogies to clearly convey to the reader that God desires for us to have a two-way relationship with him. Kudos to Goll for stepping out and challenging us to be better stewards of our time and more responsible children of God.
