The underlying premise is that each Gospel writer brings his own perspective to the re telling of the Jesus stories. If you are a "Biblical inerrantist," this is clearly not for you -- while the text makes no claims or counter-claims about the factual accuracy of one Gospel account or another, it makes it clear that editorial additions and changes have been made in various Gospel accounts by various authors.
These are not "inconsistencies," as if there were some underlying Gospel truth that had been smudged somewhat in the retelling. They are clear statements that the Gospel writers had a story to tell, would tell it in their own way, and would use the oral histories and recollections of the early Church as the basis for their record. This is a curriculum, not a polemic or apology, and it goes hand-in-hand with a second book that presents many of these stories in "Gospel parallel" fashion. Kindle Edition Verified Purchase.
