This book is a great reminder of the many activities that parents and children can share together, but more importantly it leads to the most important thing we can do and that is just give our kids our love and attention.

This book is a constant call of action to me that says, "put away your smart phone, forget your to-do list, ignore all distractions, and live in this precious moment with your child.

Nice reminder that relationship matters. I'm glad I like this book since I accidentally purchased it for my Kindle Fire while on my laptop. There really should be more than one step in case some one pushes the wrong button like I did. I was trying to get the sample. But back to the book. It is a sweet story about spending time with your kids whenever and where ever you can.

It had me tearing up at the end. My little boy age 2 enjoyed it. There are zoo scenes, circus scenes, park scenes so there is a lot of different things for him to look at and ask questions about. In the end I'm glad I accidentally purchased this book and will be checking out more stuff by this author. I am a single mom and this book is so sweet!!!! It is just about a mom and her children so for my children this is everyday life.

My older child now tries to think of 'dates' we can all have This is one of my favorite kid's books.

It often makes me cry, but it has inspired me to take my own kids on many "mommy dates", which is priceless. I ordered several sentimental books for my daughter-in-law recently. This was the most "share with your child" of the three. It talks about planning great play dates and how they would feel or what they would do if they got cancelled.

Thank you for chiming in with your ideas, Allie! The Zombie Fun Run is new to me, so I googled them. Who knew they were a thing?! They might be scary for little kids, but I can see how a year old would be into them! Glad you found something in the article that resonated with you. This is such a great post with such an important message. Before my son was born I took my daughter on a special date.

We went for tea in Balboa Park for those who live in San Diego. It was a perfect plan for just us girls. I love that you share tips. Having two kids now, I definitely understand the importance of these special dates. Thank you for sharing your date in the park idea!

Especially because right after your baby was born, they probably got a lot of attention. I think my teens would be excited to take me or dad out. Glad you liked the idea Allie! Great way to stay connected. I love this post! Sometimes we just do regular stuff with a twist — for example, I found a local car wash that has a lounge area that has free cookies and pretzels.
