I loved Brooke, and she was one of my favourite characters. I love the way Hill can somehow tell a story without revealing everything until the final few chapters. It must take immense strength to not blurt it all out beforehand. A lot of the twists and turns came as a surprise to me, because as usual I had my own thoughts and suspicions and thought I had the story cracked when it turns out that as usual I was completely and utterly wrong. It was so full of wonderful plot twists and a lot of hidden truths that make the reader anxious to know the end.

This book made me guess and wonder about how the story fits in totality. To be honest, at first I thought this would be just a typical book that centers on a third party destroying a marriage, because the words at the back cover of the book somewhat implies so. Little do I know that that is not the case. I must admit, I am fairly impressed by how Melissa Hill wrote her book. It was very unique and original and I don't think I have read a book with the same plot as hers.

It was magical; and have I mentioned about the tremendous plot twists? This is certainly a book that is for keeps. Aug 29, Deirdre rated it really liked it Shelves: The story opens with a proposal of marriage. The three main women in one part of the story are three very different characters. Eve is a housewife whose partner doesn't seem to appreciate how much she really does. Sam is a writer trying to figure out if she wants to marry the guy who wants her to devote her life to him and abandon her writing and Anne is a teacher, engaged for a long while to a man who seems to like her but she's not sure that she loves her.

And then there's the Kept me guessing. And then there's the framing story, that of Brooke, an aquisitions editor for an Australian imprint, trying to work out how all this works. I originally thought that this framing device was actually nothing to do with the story but it does and how it does is very interesting. I liked it, excepting the fact that it kept me up finishing it!

Every book as a multitude of twists and turns that keep the reader guessing all the way through.

Was quite pleased that I had picked up on a clue halfway through this one, although despite that the ending was still a surprise. Can't wait to read more of her work. Jul 16, Vylee rated it liked it. The book was interestingly gripping, a mixture of reality and a little bit of mystery The book was somehow slow However, this book is very nice, with a slight twist towards the end. Was expecting a easy chick lit, what I got was edge of my seat nail biting stuff. Didn't see the twists and turns coming. Oct 10, Charissa Ty rated it it was amazing. This is how chick lits are supposed to be written.

Then a little twist. Ok, book in a book. Then the drama starts. Then the train goes off the rails! You didn't even have a clue!

Jul 29, Ell rated it it was amazing Shelves: That is this book. I was suspicious of at least one upcoming twist from the very beginning from the description and set-up alone. At a certain point, it moves to include some thoughts from the person or people who wrote the manuscript. Eve and Sam are likeable. Any reader of chick lit will be able to relate to one of them. Those interested in the delicious ridiculousness of the twists should read further.

They have a baby girl. Wtf is the connection with Brook? For some unearthly reason, LBF and EBF ask her to babysit while they go to a wedding, and when they get back she and the baby are gone. Eve decided in her grief that she deserved this baby, so she absconds to Australia.

And she was raised by Eve. Especially around the world. Guys, I gasped audibly when I figured out where this story was going. I was irritated at myself for never figuring out that the Ireland in the manuscript was from decades ago and not present-day. I did keep wondering why it was such a big deal for women not to be single moms and why no one seemed to have a cell phone but I brushed over it. I was looking for All My Circuits. And oh man did I get it! A few plot devices are a bit convenient and might make the reader eye-roll but not enough to detract from the enjoyment.

Check out my full review. Jul 18, Teena Stewart rated it liked it. All she wants is to be loved by Liam, be his wife and raise his children. Sam is a successful author whose boyfriend has just proposed. What is it that ties them all together. The two most compelling characters are Sam and Eve, who are sisters. I also felt that those sections were rather clumsily written. I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

It was well-written and quite enjoyable in parts. A Okay, the most exciting part of this book is that I got it from the Yale University Library through interlibrary loan! I like the concept of the book, too, although that threw me for a loop at first. But once I figured that out and the plot didn't move along faster, I was thinking, "Come on already, will ya?!

Aug 30, Elizabeth Emily Browne rated it really liked it. This book is pretty awesome. It starts off as if it's going to be a light read but once you get into the manuscript in the story you'll find yourself not being able to put it down!

I really loved this book I like how you can relate to the characters. I really liked Brooke, Sam, Eve and Ronan. At the beginning Anna came across as quite an unsympathetic person and I really wanted Sam to get Ronan but in the ending you realise that she isn't the conceited person she made herself out to be she's act This book is pretty awesome. At the beginning Anna came across as quite an unsympathetic person and I really wanted Sam to get Ronan but in the ending you realise that she isn't the conceited person she made herself out to be she's actually this really quite lovely woman who's just happy to have her daughter back Ronan was the character who seemed the most genuine and kind person all the way through but at times it's quite frustrating because you can see that Anna loves Ronan as a brother and Liam is her true love so you feel sorry for him which kinda makes you want him to fall in love with Sam.
