Teen, 15 years old Written by CameronAnderson April 20, Not as bad as Alien 3 but nothing compared to the first 2. Some pretty violent gross alien gore and violence.

A fair amount of profanity with some F-Words. Brief nudity and some grotesque images. Not great. Teen, 13 years old Written by Harlan Reviews February 26, Great movie to watch at right age! Teen, 16 years old Written by Logs December 27, Fourth instalment isn't as good as the first two, but better than the third Alien Resurrection is definitely an improvement from Alien 3, but isn't at the level of the first two.

Alien Resurrection has violence, people are dragged and attacked by aliens, people are shot, burned with acid, etc. There is one scene with nudity where a clone of the main character is in pain, shirtless, and you can see her full upper body. There is also a lot of language, which is a pattern in this series. Overall fine for mature tweens and teens who can handle violence. Teen, 13 years old Written by zion September 23, This movie may not be nearly as good as the original Alien, but it's still very enjoyable. The previous movie ended with Ellen Ripley dying, albeit a bad ending, it felt like an actual ending to the series.

The movie starts by getting right to the overall idea of the movie. You watch as Ellen is being reported in a chamber and you instantly can tell where the movie is going. Franchises like "Friday the 13th", "Halloween", and "A Nightmare on Elm Street" have already done this concept to death. It's the famous revival story that every horror movie eventually becomes.

After Ellen's rebirth, you realize that she isn't acting normally. Right into the violence territory the movie goes. Ellen's DNA fused with some of a Xenomorph's creates a creature you don't want to mess with. Ellen beats up some of the people aboard the ship. Throughout the movie, there are multiple scenes of graphic violence. Both humans and Xenomorphs are killed off in some of the most disgusting ways. One guy gets a piece of his head ripped off and he shows it to the screen. Another death involves a man having his chest burst open. Other than those scenes most of the deaths are off-screen.

Another gross scene shows a bunch of test tubes filled with people that got their DNA mixed up with a Xenomorph. A few of the people in the test tubes are shown nude. Ellen's mutated breast can easily be seen in a shot for a little while. A couple other scenes of sexual tension play throughout the movie. In another scene towards the end two men are shown kissing, and it's gross because one of them is presumed to be dead. Other than the graphic violence and the sexual nature of the movie, is the moderate amount of language.

There are multiple uses of the words f--k, sh-t, -ss, and godd-mn throughout the movie. The one thing that I can say that I actually like about this movie is how all the language, sex, and violence seems to be toned down a bit. Despite that nice tone change I was actually surprised by how much the movie had failed. The whole movie had a stellar cast, interesting concept, and a soon-to-be great director.

It was really a shame at how bad the movie was. The movie felt rushed, and in the end was worse than the previous movie in the franchise. I give this movie a one and a half star rating, which still rounds up to two stars. Despite the garbage that this movie gave everybody, I am still looking forward to the next movie where Ridley Scott is back as the director.

More From Thought Catalog

This movie may have been able to revive Ellen Ripley, but it hasn't been able to revive my love for the franchise yet. Teen, 16 years old Written by MovieGeek September 24, Another unnecessary Alien sequel that no-one asked for. Although many consider Alien 3 to be the worst of the franchise I personally think that this unneeded money grab of a sequel is far worse.

For a start there is not a single relatable character in the film, the once complex and human characters of the first two are all but gone and are instead replaced with one dimensional archetypes. Alien Resurrection only exists to milk money by joining in to the well-known franchise in order to get people to buy tickets. It like Alien 3 is no longer a carefully constructed suspense filled rollercoaster but rather a gore fest that has almost no redeeming qualities.

Between the Lines - Critical Role - Campaign 2, Episode 78

Overall I strongly believe that this is a skippable film that destroys the legacy of the original two Alien films. Teen, 13 years old Written by Billb0 July 1, Hilariously bad! Kid, 11 years old June 12, Way too much violence, alien gets gruesomely killed with guts and blood This movie has lots of violence, many people are killed and an alien is shown coming out of a giant aliens body.

The same alien is shown getting ripped to pieces and a doctor who is half stuck in a pile of alien goo gets his head smashed in. A group of people are infected with aliens by the government, and a clone of a dead woman is cut open. Lots of violent failed clone scenes, with breasts showing. Dying clone asks main character to set him on fire, and android woman gets shot with a gun. An infected man gets shot multiple times while an alien is coming out of him.

Teen, 13 years old Written by Coolpool May 25, Better than the third Still more of the over the top gore fest. An alien queen "gives birth" to a humanoid alien. It then kills the alien queen, and eats a man's head. Stay clear. Teen, 14 years old Written by Sam Morris May 15, Alien is for 12 year olds and obviously I think alien is a great horror suitable for 12 year olds and above It is scary and gruesome because of baby aliens come out of the bodys guts It is violent.

Teen, 16 years old Written by InvalidReviews March 30, Not as bad as Alien3 but still disappointing and gory. The goriest movie of the franchise, I watched the whole franchise at the age of 13 but I probably could have waited until I was 14 or even a bit older to see Alien Resurrection. This movie has more graphic deaths then the third movie, more disgusting then scary so disgusting it's not even scary.

There is a lot to mention that I'm not even going to bother mentioning all the deaths.

Aliens () - Trivia - IMDb

Just watch it and see for yourself. Kid, 12 years old March 4, Waste of time and money I can't believe I actually sat through this. Watching as one of my favourite film franchises comes crashing down like this. Alien was a masterpiece of cinema. Aliens was a really cool action movie.

Alien 3 was okay. It had it's flaws, and was a bit on the gory side, but it had some cool scenes. A total mess. Problem No. The whole story arc had finished in Alien 3, when Ripley falls into the lava, killing the alien inside her, and saving humanity. The end. But they had to revive the franchise to get more cash.

If you want to make a sequel, then ditch Ripley, and focus on someone else, like Call. But she returned in a really derivative way. As a clone. And now her whole personality has changed. She's all mean and inhuman. She was really relatable in all the other films, but in this one, she's not. We're so detached to her, we don't care about her. Please just stick to Xenomorphs, don't make another alien! But that's what they did. The Newborn is an ugly, horrendous disaster to the franchise.

It's an insult to Xenomorph kind. I don't know why I hated it so much, but I just did. When it killed the Alien queen, I felt like screaming at the TV screen. So annoying. The tone really doesn't fit the franchise. And most of the jokes aren't really funny.
