The Netflix show has provided three seasons of comedic meme fodder to the point where we use memes about Hopper, Joyce and even Alexi to demonstrate how we feel.

If a picture is worth 1, words, a meme is worth 8, pixels So it's no wonder that Eleven memes give us so much joy, especially when they're funny. Sure, the heartwarming ones about her and Hop give us major feels, but the hilarious ones help us make it through the day with laughter. Not only is it a funny play on numbers, giving math geeks a chance to debate over whether or not a character can be a fraction of a character, but it sticks sci-fi up against sci-fi, alluding to two powerful female characters--even if they are rather different in terms of personality.

Eleven as a Borg drone is especially funny given her mannerisms and difficulties relating to others during the first season. The meme actually lightens the situation since in the show her childhood is actually heartbreaking. This funny meme speaks to all of the introverts watching the show.

Who didn't want to create a fort in Mike's basement and live off Eggos, too? The reality of the show made this quote so much more heartbreaking when we realize that Eleven has never had anyone in her corner, least of all a friend, so if we lighten it by using it as a meme to showcase how much modern introverts prefer their own company rather than the company of others, it gives us a laugh.

Eleven isn't a character to mess with. She seems innocent but some fans argue that she's actually the villain of the series as she's one of the most violent human characters. When Dustin threatens his bullies with her and says that she's crazy and will take them out if they mess with the boys again, he's kind of not wrong. This meme renders Eleven a more nefarious figure who's really just there to kick butt and eat toaster waffles. It insinuates that she's actually the bored bully who wants to pick on people since she's out of her favorite food.

Eleven escaped Hawkins lab not to save the world or be a freak or exhibit her superpowers but to get some decent food and care. She's literally starving and has been treated like an animal undergoing experimentation her entire life. As badly as some people talk about her, she honestly just wants a full belly. The same goes for their praises: they can sing them all they want as long as she gets fed.

The meme is so funny because of its allusion to The Office and Pam just wanting to eat at a dinner party. Of course Eleven is much more famished and only cares about survival at this point.

The future

If Eleven were a Pokemon, this is the meme that would describe her evolution. It's a new take on "The Future is Female" meme that jokes about women in power being too busy for hair care. The best thing about this meme, aside from its hilarity, is the sheer amount of girl power in it. It reminds us of the cool characters we've had in sci-fi in the past decade and makes us hungry for many more.

No meme better describes El's love of Eggos than this one. Using a completely understandable gesture, she tells us exactly what will happen if she runs out of her favorite food.

Of course, in the show, this is a heartbreaking moment when she reveals what will happen to people who help her, but for the meme, it's hilarious, as is the upvote hashtag. What's even funnier is how much Millie Bobby Brown, the actress who portrays Eleven, despises Eggos in real life.

It makes the demand of Eggos much more ironic given that Brown would never demand one in this manner, even if she did like them.

The Internet loves to make people feel old, especially when it comes to sharing photos of popular child actors in side-by-side frames with their adult selves alongside text that reads something like, "Remember this actor? This is what he looks like today! Do you feel old yet? What's so funny about this meme is that it's actually trolling that meme!

Negasonic Teenage Warhead is obviously not Eleven, but we have to wonder how many people who fall for fake news might also fall for this fake meme and wonder just how many years it's been since the first season. Eleven has survived living alone in the woods as well as the Upside Down, torture at Hawkins lab and isolation with Hopper. Of course she could be a Swanson. The scale and detail of this book are without compare. Realistic enough to keep you grounded yet the descriptions and scope of events are so vast that you're hooked and kept interested through the 3 books. This is a very accessible novel that I would recommend to someone who has little experience with the genre.

The story is somewhat conventional beginning, middle, end but manages to include a considerable amount of discovery and mystery. If defines what something truly 'alien' is - not some dude with two arms, two legs, one head and a load of prosthetic makeup, but alien. EE Doc Smith's Lensman series of novels is fantastic.
