Thanks for this website with plethora of travel information for families. Most of the travelling blogs focus mostly on adults or backpacking individuals. Your website is well organized and neatly written with a lot of useful information. I and my husband are planning on a family trip to central Europe in June for three weeks. My husband is an avid hiker, he loves to hike and he has been to Argentina and the Himalayan base camp hiking trips in recent years.

I and my kids are not so much, however, we do some amount of hiking in local national parks during the warm seasons.

So far, from all the useful information from your website, I have short-listed these places— 1. Czechia Prague 2. Poland Krakow 3. Slovakia Tatras and Bratislava or Kosice 4. Croatia Zagreb and?? Slovenia Lake Bled and?? Hungary Budapest 7.

You have some wonderful places listed! In Croatia, stick with northern Croatia. In Slovenia , Ljubljana is very nice and you could spend a few days in Lake Bled or Kranjska Gora and day trip from here. Bratislava is an easy day trip from Vienna. When driving from Slovenia to Vienna, depending on how your timing works out for your itinerary, you could visit Hallstatt on the way, if you have an extra day in your itinerary. Hallstatt is a very popular, crowded destination, but it is very pretty. Bratislava may not quite have the same wow factor, but with lower crowds, we enjoyed our visit to Bratislava a lot more than Hallstatt.

Driving between all of these destinations is very easy.

Everything on your list is in the Schengen zone, except for Croatia. When you drive into and out of Croatia, you will go through a border crossing and have to show your passport. Also make your rental car company aware of all of the countries you plan on visiting. Cheers, Julie. I was scratching my head to plan our first trip to Europe until I saw your blog here. I find it really helpful especially those travel advises, sample itineraries and those reminders before planning a trip to Europe! What sort of itinerary and modes of transport along the whole journey do you propose?

Hello Jacklyn. Sounds like you are planning a very nice honeymoon! I recommend flying between Athens, Serbia, and Switzerland.

The Best 10 Days in Italy Itinerary | How to Plan the Perfect Italian Trip

You will need roughly 5 days for Greece 2 days in Athens and 3 in Santorini. We have not been to Serbia yet so I am not sure how much time you will need there. As for Switzerland , anywhere from 7 to 10 days would be great. With 7 days, you could fly to Zurich, spend 1 or 2 days in Lucerne, and put the rest of your time in the Bernese Oberland stay in Murren, Wengen, Lauterbrunnen, or Grindelwald. You might want to consider taking out Serbia and just putting your time into Switzerland and Greece. They are two very different experiences and it would be nice to take a little more time in each place, rather than trying to add on a 3rd country.

However, if you have a strong desire to visit Serbia, you can squeeze it in, you will just need to sacrifice some time in Switzerland.

General Ten Days of Prayer Items

In Greece, you can fly or take the ferry between Santorini and Athens flying is much faster. In Switzerland, use the train to get around. We will be arriving in Munich and then plan to cover Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Paris and spend last 4-days in London since our return flight is from London.

Would you mind suggesting an itinerary for above dates? Also, are you allowed to rent 9-seater from Munich and drive through above listed countries? And I think that you are trying to fit a lot into 20 days. I recommend eliminating Italy. I think you need 8 to 10 days to make a visit to Italy worth it and that will use up about half of your time. Italy, on its own, would make a great future trip. Yes, you should be able to rent a vehicle for this itinerary. The fee to drop off a car in a different country than you picked it up has gotten to be very expensive, so you might want to research this before finalizing your itinerary.

You will save a lot of money if you start and end in Munich and then fly or take a train to London. Very nice descriptions. I am planning with family 7 members ,to Munich on 5th April and return from Amsterdam on 14th April Can any suggest itinerary of Germany and neetherland.

You could spend 2 days in Munich and 2 days in Amsterdam. You have about 8 days for travel so this uses up half of your time.

Arrival at the Rome Fiumicino Airport | Italy Itinerary Trip Planer

For the other four days, you could visit the Bavaria region , drive the Romantic Road, or visit Nuremberg and Cologne. To do the Romantic Road and Bavaria, a rental car would be helpful but you could also organize tours from Munich. To get to Nuremberg, Cologne, and then Amsterdam, you could take the train. Wonderful read … I am planning my second Europe Trip.. I want to three cities London Paris and Amsterdam with a 12 days itinery.. That sounds like a great trip. We have a London Amsterdam Paris itinerary for 10 days.

You can use this itinerary and add on your extra days. One more day in each city would be perfect. Or, take our 10 day London Paris itinerary and add on our 2 day Amsterdam itinerary. A third day in Amsterdam would give you more time and the ability to day trip to another destination in the Netherlands. Great article! Now our daughter is studying for the semester in Rome and is taking weekend jaunts to Amalfi coast, Tuscany, Ireland, Paris and London and maybe more. We are planning to visit and see Rome with her again throwing that coin in the trevi worked lol and also take her to Venice.

Hello Nancy. What a great place to study abroad!! It sounds like you would like to see Rome, Venice, London, and Paris in 10 days. Two days in Venice is enough time to see the main sights. If you want to see Rome with your daughter, you probably need at least 2 days, maybe 3. You could fly to London or Paris to take advantage of the cheap flights and then catch a short flight the same day to Rome. Spend a few days in Rome, a few days in Venice, and then travel back to London or Paris and do some sightseeing here. You can see both cites very quickly or just choose one and thoroughly explore it.

Fly home from London or Paris. Your email address will not be published. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. Sign me up for the newsletter! Venice If you have more than 10 days, considering adding in Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast , the Cinque Terre , or the Dolomites into your itinerary.

Walk, cruise, or cycle along the canals in Amsterdam. Visit the Louvre in Paris. This is one of our most popular itineraries and a wonderful way to spend 10 days in Europe. Northern Italy and Switzerland On this itinerary, explore the mighty Alps.
