There is a strong bias towards the superiority of Christian Teachings - this was unwanted, especially in a philosophical text. But for the newcomer, the first 4 chapters are a worthwhile read. Skip the last. A good introduction to Epicureanism, Stoicism, Plato and Aristotle.

A Neuro-Philosophy of Human Nature: Emotional Amoral Egoism and the Five Motivators of Humankind

The author explains the pros and cons of each, somewhat settling on Aristotle as the best of the four. The finally chapter is on Christianity which -- the author says -- adds the last missing piece brotherly love to Aristotle. Though the book falls down in the last chapter, the author's conception of Christianity -- non-ascetic, unsentimental, purposeful, and non-ritualistic is definitely the best of "Christian" type.

Mar 31, Peggy Snyder rated it did not like it. Hard to read Could not follow book. Very hard to understand. Maybe would be better if it was audible or able to start and finish in one setting.

You cannot differentiate between the humans intelligence and dogs intelligence, both are same kind of intelligence just the thing they both have different bodies to be aware of it. So one thing is more aware of the intelligence and the other thing is less aware of that intelligence. So what i think that intelligence is the product of conciousness. And awareness is the product of intelligence.

Philosophy of Life Essay | Bartleby

So basically awareness and intelligence are not conciousness, they are the product of conciousness. To understand awareness is to understand intelligence and to understand intelligence is to understand conciousness. So awareness and intelligence can vary in terms of quantity but not in terms of quality. The only way to be aware of that intelligence is to realise it, that way you will understand what conciousness is. Because intellect can only gather and know things it can never understand things. It only knows how to dissect everything.

5 great unsolved philosophical questions

So we can conclude that universe is aware, concious and intelligent. And we are the universe from the point of big bang. Now the only difficult problem of conciousness is to be aware of the solution And i think it cam help us solve the problems of freewill and death and many other questions.
