Crusaders take 2-0 series lead in OT
Arjun Atwal and Reid Irwin both got tossed from the game. Discipline was the one area we would have liked to have seen tighten up. But the group really held it together. We found a way to come out hard in the overtime and Carter Savoie was Johnny on the spot with the deflection and we got the win. The Crusaders only built off of that huge momentum-building victory on Tuesday night in Game 4.
The Sherwood squad took a lead on goals by Jack Hamly and Garrett Clegg and withstood a late charge to win and board the bus back home with a series edge. The guys just continued from what we were able to do in the third game and we made a couple of minor adjustments that ended up paying off for us.
We scored two goals off of what we had watched on video prior to the game.

Full credit goes to our guys Berly was again solid between the pipes. We just played that simple chip and chase road game. It was a very structured defensive game. We played a patient, smart game, as well. We waited for our opportunities and when we got them we were able to score a couple of big goals.

Our depth is playing a big part right now and that is what it takes to win in the playoffs. Our home and away records are pretty much identical. We have just as much confidence playing on the road as we do at home. But our guys found a way to withstand that and battle through and now we have a chance to come home and close it out, although that fourth win is always the toughest one to get.
The Crusaders will now have the opportunity to eliminate the Oil Barons in game 5 on Friday at 7 p. Our mind-set is to close this out on Friday in front of a good hometown crowd. We were very good in the third and outshot them We were down , but we got two power play goals to win it. I think we were five-for-nine on the power play in the two games, which is more than 50 per cent and was the talk of the Showcase.

Savoie had a hat trick, with White adding two goals and Jacob Franczak the other. They have been our backbone so far. Since our third game, they have really taken over and been the best line on the ice every single night. Carter Savoie, even though he is a young guy, there is a lot of expectations on him and he is fulfilling that. Arjun and Will are both year-olds and they know what the expectations are of them and they want to set the bar high.
Those three demand a lot out of each and hold each other accountable in terms of leading the team and everybody else will follow. They have really dominated. It is almost like they are playing keep-away in the offensive zone. It is pretty impressive, what they have been able to do so far. Our group keeps finding ways to win.
The North Division is tight and you need to get the points when you can. The Crusaders are off until Friday but will then be tested with three road games in three days, playing the Canmore Eagles on Friday, the Okotoks Oilers again on Saturday and the Olds Grizzlys on Sunday. A line this divine deserves a name. Manah said his top line has been lights out to start the season.
