Ok, I'm not going to lie, I edited this book so I'm biased. My book company, Happy Tails Books, published breed-specific compilations of stories about rescued dogs.

The purpose of the books is to entertain, and to raise awareness of, and money for, dog rescue groups. In my opinion, the book came together really well. There are about 50 stories, total, about adopted Boston Terriers. They are happy, sad, fun, emotional, inspiring Each story is very unique and the passion the Ok, I'm not going to lie, I edited this book so I'm biased. Each story is very unique and the passion the owner has for their dogs always shines through. Here's one of my favorite short stories, entitled "A Gotcha Day Wish. I still remember you looking at us from behind the backyard fence, head cocked with those huge ears.

I knew right then we would be taking you home. We may have saved you, Mr. Snicks, but you saved us, too. Our life is so much richer now that you are in our home. The hours you play with your sister Georgia, and your little antics, melt our hearts. You are our shadow-dog, always having to be near us, seeing what we are doing.

Never demanding, yet always eager for cuddles or belly rubs. Many things about your former life we do not know. You came to us a little fearful and a lot thin. Your ears were infected and you had scabs on your head. All has been healed in the time you have been with us, no fear of kisses and you are definitely not thin anymore!!! We love you more every day. What a wonderful book!! Story after story of wonderful dogs and their trials and adjustments into new families. Anyone who every doubted the wisdom of adopting an adult or older dog would have those doubts eased. I personally have adopted a senior Golden Mix and a Boston Terrier. She was 10 years old. Her owner died and she was adopted by someone who didn't give her a chance.

This book is full of similar touching stories and has the added benefit of helping rescue groups. Some of the stories made me angry and sad at the same time. How people can treat animals with such cruelty saddens me. I'm sure they would treat humans the same way or worse if they could get away with it.

To protect myself without killing his enthusiasm, I got inventive and shoved a toy in his mouth from a bucket I kept outside my door. After a month, Dylan began greeting me at the door, bringing me his own toy. On one occasion, I entered the house expecting to find my overly excited Boston with a toy in his mouth but instead he sat there ready to hand me the cordless phone!

Learned so much from this book of short stories of Boston Terriers who were rescued and adopted.

Our family has adopted and rescued Pitbull terriers for years. Pitbulls are close relatives of the Boston. However, never knew that so many little Bostons are in need of good homes. I hope i can adopt a Boston someday.

Highly recommend this book for any dog lover. Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. This book is heartwarming, especially if you own an adopted Boston. I gave it four stars because it is written to that audience alone. I'm not sure Doberman owners would enjoy it as much as I did.
