Man Hunting With Dowsing

As luck would have it, I was attending a Paranormal Investigation at an historic hotel in Amador County. Upon arriving at the hotel, I used the rods in my hotel room and quickly determined that there was a little boy spirit in the room. I invited him to come along with us, to play, while our group investigated the hotel until the wee hours of the night. We captured more than one EVP with a little boy's voice! I purchased these rods to use exclusively for locating unmarked graves.

I am the clerk for our local cemetery and the burial records for the oldest section of the cemetery, dating back to the s, have been lost. Many of the headstones have deteriorated away or the graves were never marked to begin with.

Customers who bought this item also bought

A few weeks ago I had a customer who wanted to buy a quarter lot so she could bury her brother next to their father. There was no stone and no record of a deed sold to that lot. I had our local sexton come in and he used his probe. He then took a pair of marking flags, bent them at a 90 degree angle, and proceeded to walk back and forth across the lot. Every time he would come to the next marked grave, the wires would cross.

I had watched dozens of videos on the internet, but it was amazing to see it done in real life!

Dowsing competition pits diehard believers against sceptics

I was so excited to try this myself. When I received these rods I went straight to the cemetery. I wanted so badly for this to work for me. I've had people tell me that some people can do, and some people just can't. I was scared that I was going to be one of those that just can't. I care deeply about this cemetery and about the people buried there many of them are my ancestors , so I was hoping that would help me.

From the moment I took the rods out of the bag and held them up, they started to move. I swear, it was as if they were searching. I took the rods and proceeded to walk directly behind a line of stones so I could not read the names. I had been told that the rods would point towards the feet if it was a man and towards the head if it was a woman.

The majority of the time it was totally accurate!!! The rods would swing one way or the other, so afterwards I would walk around the stone to see if the rods were right. I had several "readings" that were confusing to me. Many times the rods would cross and then swing one way or the other.

The confusion is mine though in not being able to read the rods. Some people say there is no hocus pocus to this. It's simply the rods reacting to the energy or electrical field being released.

I'm not sure that is correct, especially when you're using them for locating grave sites. All I know is that they work, they move even when you are standing perfectly still in the middle of the cemetery. I need to practice a lot more with these rods so I can learn to interpret what they're trying to tell me.

Very solid and securely packaged. I was happy with the product, and totally ecstatic that they worked for me! Used these last night to locate a I wish these dowsing rods were a little heavier gauge and a little longer, but it doesn't change my opinion of the product.

Appears to be real copper as the listing states. I don't need the glass vials or the drawstring bag, but that and the enclosed literature was a nice touch. Used these last night to locate a missing water line. I love them and will definitely use them again. My only complaint is they were sent in an envelope instead of a box so they were bent when I received them.

It wasn't a huge deal as I just straightened them out, but I feel if a product gets bent in shipping then it wasn't shipped properly. Other than that I recommend this product. I'm a beginner in dowsing. I've always had an open mind sprinkled with a bit of skepticism. In my mind, the fact that the act of dowsing has existed so long lends to its credibility.

There are records of using dowsing, as practised today, in Germany to find metals. Some people believe there's something to it and some don't. They are used for finding water, metal, gems, oil, unmarked graves, and asking Yes or No questions. I decided to check this out.

I was opening this package while sitting down on the couch. Before I even read the paperwork it came with, I took them out and held the handles with the rods straight out and parallel to my lap. This was my first odd experience with these. They immediately crossed but then the left one stayed in position, while the right was slowly spinning around.

I actually leaned my chest back to give it room to spin. Both of my hands were very steady and I was in the house on the couch. It's not like there's a big gust of wind. And why would one move and not the other? That, I don't know - at that point, I hadn't even asked it anything. The position to hold these in is normally standing with your arms straight out. You hold onto the outer handle the L-shaped rod fits into - the handle does not restrict the movements of the rod. I got up off the couch and went outside walking around on my patio and they were straight forward.

Then, as I walked around, they crossed directly over a big umbrella base that I have filled with water to make it heavy. Like I said, I'm kind of open-minded that there could be something to this, I was still surprised. I went inside for awhile but was still thinking about it, so I went back out to try it again. It did the same thing. It was straight then crossed right when it was above the umbrella base filled with water.

Two hours later I went out to repeat my experiment, it did the exact same thing. So, based on my experience today, I'd say I'm more firmly in the camp that believes there's something to this. It came with basic instructions but it also gives a lot of links to learn more about dowsing. I ended up spending a few hours on YouTube. One thing I learned more about is asking Yes or No questions. It said on one channel, you have to kind of break in a new set of dowsing rods. To do that you tell it, "This is what it looks like for Yes" and then you cross the two rods.

And then you tell it, "This is what it looks like for No" and have the rods kind of veer out away from each other. This is the part of my review you may not believe - but it's true. I was holding it out and when I said "This is what it looks like for Yes" - it crossed on its own.

I put them down for a minute. Then I put them straight out again, holding by the handles, with no control of where the rods turn, and I said, "This is what it looks like for No" - they immediately turned outward on their own. Even though I have some belief, I was still pretty surprised. Having that happen has definitely increased my interest.

I want to experiment more with the Yes or No questions but want to think about it first to make sure it's positive and that it's truly a question I want and answer to. These dowsing rods and handles are made out of copper.

The handles are about 4. I've read you can also make these out of metal coat hangers but these are much nicer and I think the price is reasonable. See all reviews.
