We bought oat and rain cookies from the supermarket which were a lot cheaper and we liked them better! We made these in school and they were fun and easy to make. We made them big so they took a bit longer to cook. We used sultanas instead of raisins and this made them quite juicy. Overall, they were quite sweet and tasty.

Not as bad as the reviews said actually. These were awful. They were too dry and too sweet.

Healthy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies [gluten free & vegan]

Dry and not great flavour. Definitely not the gooey and delicious cookies I was hoping for. Not great. Wrong ratios, although they are edible. They have a wholefood quality to them too many oats , but not healthy to match.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies | Gourmet Cookie Delivery | Cookies by Design

I wish I had read all the reviews first. Very easy to make. My 7 year old enjoyed making these. Can't understand the bad comments about being dry, floury and too sweet. I made these for the first time with my 2 and a half year old and they were great. They were moist and not too sweet. They feel like you are eating a healthy biscuit due to being lovely and oaty. I made them a bit too big so they did take a little longer to cook.

They do come out the oven very soft so you do need to cool them like it suggests and this is when they firm up. I realised I didn't have any cinnamon at the last minute so used ground mixed spice but still great. Going to try them with some orange zest next time. Can't fault them. Easy and tasty. Is it possible to substitute wheat flour for gluten free flour? I can eat oats but not flour, however I have learned that is rarely possible to effect a straight swap.

Any help gratefully received. Thank you.

Thanks for your question. We haven't made these biscuits using GF plain flour but Doves Farm provides a good substitute if you want to experiment. They recommend adding a little extra liquid so you could try adding a dash of milk. Could I replace the raisins with raspberries.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Hi Owllupus, thanks for your question. We haven't tested this recipe using raspberries instead so we cannot guarantee perfect results. You should be ok to swap the raisins for a different dried fruit such as dried cranberries or cherries but the moisture in the raspberries might make the resulting biscuit mixture too wet.

Let us know how you get on if you do decide to give them a go. Delicious and easy! To make them even better: soak the raisins in apple juice or cranberry juice This worked fine for me- lovely flavour and not dry at all. Your email address will not be published. Recipe Rating. These cookies look amazing! I love how these cookies have chocolate in them. My kids love oatmeal raisin cookies, and I like chocolate chip ones.

These combine the best of both worlds. Same with us! I love raisin and my husband loves chocolate! I cherry pick the ones with the least amount of chocolate in them. Those look super chewy and delicious. I need to make Christmas cookies very soon, so thanks for the recipe. You were cutting it close to the last minute there! I hope your baking session was a successful one!

Amazing Chewy Vegan Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

I love oatmeal cookies and these look amazing. That makes me almost want to try raisins! I love chocolate chip cookies but I have never tried it this way. My family certainly thought they were delicious — I kept returning to the kitchen and finding more and more were missing! These look so yummy! I love that they are chewy, as I perfer a chewy cookie! I really enjoy oatmeal and raisin together in a cookie, too! We love some good cookies in our house and I suspect my boys would adore these. Great tip to make them smaller for Santa and his reindeer.
